    At Carolina Cool, we’re not looking for someone who simply knows how to install HVAC equipment. We’re looking for a seasoned Residential HVAC Lead Installer who knows how to own a job, lead a team, solve problems, and deliver work they’re proud to put their name on.

    As a Lead Installer, you’re the captain of the job site. From the moment the equipment arrives to the final homeowner walkthrough, you’ll take ownership of the installation and make sure the job gets done safely, efficiently, correctly, and to code.

    You’ll set the pace, keep the crew moving, coach your install helpers, and make sure every system is performing at its best. You’ll also be a key face of Carolina Cool in our customers’ homes, so professionalism and great communication matter just as much as technical skill.

    What You’ll Be DoingOwn residential HVAC installations from start to finish — replacements, change-outs, and new installationsReview job details before getting started and make sure you have the right equipment, materials, tools, and plan to get the job doneInstall and replace furnaces, heat pumps, air conditioners, air handlers, thermostats, and related HVAC equipmentPerform duct modifications and ensure proper system design, airflow, and installationLead, coach, and develop install helpers, helping them build their skills and become stronger techniciansKeep the job moving efficiently while maintaining Carolina Cool’s standards for workmanship and safetyVerify airflow, refrigerant charge, electrical connections, drainage, controls, and overall system operationPerform system start-ups, commissioning, quality checks, and final inspectionsWalk homeowners through their new system and make sure they understand how it worksCommunicate professionally with homeowners, comfort advisors, dispatch, management, and other team membersKeep the work area clean, organized, and respectful of the customer’s homeComplete job documentation, photos, and paperwork accurately and on timeTroubleshoot issues in the field and find solutions without letting a curveball ruin the dayRepresent the Carolina Cool brand with professionalism, confidence, and a great attitudeWhat We’re Looking For4+ years of hands-on residential HVAC installation experienceProven experience leading residential installation projects or crewsStrong knowledge of HVAC installation practices, system operation, and applicable codesAbility to confidently install and start up residential HVAC systemsExperience coaching or training less-experienced installersStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsEPA Certification requiredValid driver’s license and clean driving recordComfortable working in attics, crawlspaces, garages, rooftops, and outdoors in all kinds of weatherStrong communication and customer-service skillsAbility to stay organized and productive while working independentlyPride in workmanship — you notice the details others missA positive, team-first attitude and the ability to keep your cool when the job gets hot What You’ll Get

    What You’ll Be Doing

    You’ll take the lead on commercial new construction projects and help bring buildings to life:

    Install drainage, water, and gas piping

    Set commercial plumbing fixtures

    Read and work from engineered drawings

    Operate equipment (aerial lifts, excavators, etc.)

    Train and mentor junior plumbers

    Keep projects on track and up to code

    Communicate professionally with customers and crews

    Jump in wherever needed to get the job done right

    What You Bring to the Table

    5+ years of commercial plumbing experience

    Strong leadership and teamwork skills

    Ability to read blueprints and plans

    Comfortable operating heavy equipment

    Able to lift 50–100 lbs, work outdoors, climb ladders, and get into tight spaces

    Valid driver’s license + safe driving record

    Able to pass background and drug screening

    Pride in your work and a “let’s get it done” attitude
