    Staff on 7M work closely with Physicians, Registered Nurses, Therapists, Case Managers, Addiction Specialists, and Behavioral Health Professionals.     The RN provides professional nursing care to patients across all age groups, supporting patient-centered care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.     What We Require:

    Education: Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program required.


    Experience: None.


    Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required or eligibility to obtain licensure required.


    Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required. Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.


    Other Minimum Qualifications: Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required, including use of electronic medical records. For Behavioral Health roles, must demonstrate ability to safely manage disruptive or potentially violent patients.

    Establishes and maintains a sterile field and assures team maintains a sterile environment.Correctly and safely passes instruments to clinician.Participants in surgical counts (sponge, needle and instruments), per policy.Communicates with surgeons, gastroenterologists, anesthesiologists, other necessary staff and patients to facilitate continuity of care.Follows policies, procedures, all regulatory standards and patient safety goals.Participates in the nursing process for patients of all ages served.Participates in unit educational activities.

     

    What We Require:

    Education: High school graduate or equivalent required. Successfully completed an accredited surgical technologist training program and holds a current credential as a certified surgical technologist from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or its successor. Or, has successfully completed a training program for surgical technology during the person's service as a member of any branch of the armed forces of the United States.

    Experience: None

    Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Certification in Surgical Technology required. LPN licensure required for grandfathered employees. Obtain and/or maintain registration with the VA Dept of Health Professions.


    Other Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge of instrumentations. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development through the life span, interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age and specific needs, and provide the care needed as described in departmental policies and procedures.
