Cyber Systems Administrator Mid–Senior Level | Kirtland AFB, NM | $100,000 - $125,000 | Active Secret Clearance Required Support mission-critical distributed operations—securing and maintaining systems that power Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) training, simulation environments, and Battlespace infrastructure for Distributed Mission Operations (DMO). A Day in the Life - What you’ll do Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows systems, servers, and mission applications. Manage system accounts, permissions, directory services, and policies within Active Directory environments. Perform system monitoring, log analysis, resource management, and performance optimization to ensure system reliability. Support and maintain virtualized environments including VMware ESXi, storage provisioning, and virtual networking. Troubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to restore system functionality. Support system integration and testing activities in collaboration with engineering and simulation teams. Maintain system documentation including configuration baselines, technical procedures, and operational artifacts. Support system operations during mission exercises, integration events, and testing windows. Collaborate with network engineers, software developers, mission operators, and cybersecurity teams to support mission objectives. Present system status, findings, and technical issues to stakeholders and leadership as required. Ensure system availability, reliability, and readiness to support mission execution. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field or 5–7 years of related experience in lieu of a degree Ability to obtain an active DoD Top Secret clearance with eligibility for Special Access Programs (SAP) and SCI Experience administering and securing Windows and Linux systems in compliance with NIST SP 800-53 / RMF frameworks DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification required Experience maintaining cybersecurity documentation, system artifacts, and audit evidence Experience identifying system vulnerabilities and recommending remediation strategies Familiarity with system requirements development, validation, and verification processes Experience supporting DoD systems, platforms, or mission environments Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to operate independently Preferred Qualifications Active DoD Top Secret clearance Experience with virtualization technologies including VMware ESXi, storage provisioning, and virtual networking Experience in hardware testing, reverse engineering, or embedded system environments Experience operating in cross-domain or multi-network environments Experience supporting government agencies or large-scale defense programs Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical information effectively Who is Caribou Thunder?
