    Job Summary



    Summary: Repairs, maintains and assists in the installation of vending machines and equipment.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Responds to dispatch calls for machine repairs using company-owned vehicle. Calls on existing customers to determine adequacy of service; listens to and resolves service complaints. Visually inspects and listens to machines to determine causes of malfunctions; dismantles machines to gain access to problem area. Inspects parts to detect wear, misalignment or other problems; removes and replaces worn or defective parts; repairs broken parts; realigns and adjusts components; tests machine operation following repair. Reviews inventory and orders parts; ships and receives machines; maintains equipment inventory. Prepares machines for installation at accounts; assists in installations and removals. Sets up and operates mechanical equipment and small hand tools, such as drills, grinders and welding torches, for machine repair. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Job Summary

    The Service Manager oversees a team of field technicians and installers responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of vending & coffee equipment. This role ensures exceptional service delivery, operational efficiency, and positive customer experience. The manager provides hands on support, drives team performance, and maintains a well organized service environment while collaborating closely with internal partners to resolve issues and enhance service quality.
     
    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
     
    Leadership & Team Management
    •    Lead, coach, and develop technicians and installers to ensure strong performance and accountability.
    •    Conduct brief daily huddles to review priorities, align on workload, and communicate operational needs.
    •    Provide hands on service support when needed to meet response times and maintain customer satisfaction.
    •    Support coverage during staff absences or peak service periods.

    Operations & Workflow Management
    •    Maintain a clean, organized, and fully functional shop and workspace.
    •    Ensure equipment awaiting service is staged for next day work or that required parts are ordered promptly.
    •    Partner with the District Operations Manager to identify recurring issues and recommend repair or replacement strategies.
    •    Monitor and ensure timely, accurate completion of service tickets, reports, and documentation.

    Installation Coordination
    •    Confirm installation schedules and ensure crews complete all pre departure checklists.
    •    Verify installation vehicles are properly stocked and ready before leaving the shop.
    •    Assist with installations or emergency situations when needed.

    Field Service & Customer Support
    •    Professionally represent the company during field visits and customer interactions.
    •    Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and support complex service scenarios alongside technicians.
    •    Communicate effectively with dispatch and internal teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely updates.
    •    Escalate recurring or systemic equipment issues to management for review.

    Inventory & Equipment Management
    •    Maintain accurate inventory of parts, tools, and supplies within service vehicles.
    •    Ensure equipment is safe, well-maintained, and ready for daily use.
     
     
    Qualifications
    •    Prior management or team leadership experience required.
    •    Technical familiarity with mechanical and electrical systems is preferred.
    •    Experience with computerized work order or maintenance management systems strongly preferred.
    •    Strong decision making skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
    •    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    •    Proficiency with Windows based applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

    Summary: 
    Performs a variety of skilled maintenance duties related to facility engineering and maintenance functions, while providing field leadership, ensuring quality assurance, supporting training efforts, and managing escalations.

    o    Cleans, lubricates, services, repairs or diagnoses malfunction of HVAC, electrical and mechanical building systems, sterilizers, sprinkler and standpipe systems, transport systems, electronic signaling systems, fire alarm systems and similar specialty equipment items with appropriate training, certification skills and licensing requirements as needed. 
    o    Supervises and leads a group of workers on a project. 
    o    Reads, comprehends and transmits complicated detailed instructions verbally and in writing. 
    o    Teaches advanced maintenance skills to other members of the department. 
    o    Reviews work of outside vendors and licensed maintenance workers; makes punch lists. 
    o    Reports on and repairs discrepancies as assigned.
