Job Title: Float Teacher
Reports to: Early Learning Programs Director
Classification: Full-time, hourly, non-exempt, year-round
Position Description: The Float Teacher is actively involved in all classrooms in Calvary Early Learning. This position assists and cooperates in a supportive role to classroom teachers and substitutes in classrooms for planning, sick and vacation time. The hours are varied between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Provide high-quality care to children ages 12 weeks to 5 years.Work with classroom teachers in the daily running of the classrooms.Be flexible to accommodate daily schedule changes.Supervise classroom aides.Foster relationships and communication with children, families and staff.Tasks and Expectations:

Be prepared to be outside in all weather with all agesQualifications, Skills and Knowledge:
Must be at least 18 years of age Have a minimum of 2-year degree in Early Childhood or related fieldPass a background studyParticipate in an orientation programBe a Christian role model for children, parents and other staffComplete the appropriate number of in-service hours each yearAttend staff meetings, training sessions and family eventsMaintain a neat and clean physical appearanceAble to see, hear, think and move quickly to supervise children safelyAble to lift and carry children (maximum of 60 pounds)Calvary Childcare Center is a NAEYC-accredited, faith-based program in Golden Valley, Minn. Role Responsibilities:
Manage the classroom using developmentally appropriate practices and positive behavior guidance.
Plan and implement activities based on our curriculum, tailored to support each child’s spiritual, intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development.
Observe and assess each child's progress using provided assessment tools.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment that promotes healthy learning and play.
Communicate effectively to build trusting relationships with children, families, staff, and team members—including the Early Learning team and facilities services.
Use childcare management tools efficiently for daily operations and documentation.
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing, carrying, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.

Qualifications:
DHS Rule 3 Teacher Qualified
Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field preferred
Experience working with Toddler age children in a licensed center
Uphold professional characteristics consistent with the requirements of DCYF Rule 3, NAEYC accreditation standards, and the expectations of Calvary Church
Be available 8:30-5:30 Monday through Friday
