Litigation SecretaryWe are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Litigation Secretary to support our attorneys in a fast-paced and dynamic legal environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong litigation support skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and proficiency with legal technology and document management systems.
Our firm is a well-established civil litigation firm with a statewide practice representing businesses, employers, and auto dealerships throughout California. We are recognized for our extensive experience in dealership litigation, advising and defending franchised automobile dealerships in matters involving employment law, consumer claims, business disputes, regulatory compliance, and general civil litigation. We pride ourselves on delivering sophisticated legal services while fostering a collaborative, supportive environment focused on mentorship, teamwork, and professional growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys in an active litigation practice.Draft, revise, and proofread legal correspondence, pleadings, discovery, and court filings.Prepare and file documents in state and federal courts, including e-filing.Maintain attorney calendars, monitor litigation deadlines, and coordinate hearings, depositions, and meetings.Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and vendors.Organize and maintain electronic files using NetDocuments (NetDocs) and other legal software.Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, binders, and case materials.Support the client intake process, including interviewing clients and collecting required documentation
QualificationsMinimum of 3 years of experience as a Litigation Secretary in a law firm.Strong knowledge of California civil litigation procedures and court rules.Experience with electronic court filing in California state and federal courts.Proficiency with NetDocuments (NetDocs) or comparable document management systems.Excellent legal drafting, proofreading, and document formatting skills.Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.This role offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a collaborative legal team while expanding your litigation support experience.
