    The General Superintendent provides senior-level field leadership across multiple ground-up multifamily projects. This role is responsible for driving consistency, quality, and excellence in jobsite execution by mentoring and developing Senior Superintendents, Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents and Project Engineers.

    The General Superintendent partners closely with Leadership and Project Management to ensure each project achieves schedule, safety, quality, and cost objectives. This role also collaborates with Preconstruction to support early logistics and sequencing planning, scheduling, and field resource forecasting.

    This position plays a key role in standardizing field processes, supporting staffing decisions, and proactively identifying risks to ensure overall operational success.     Basic Responsibilities

    Leadership & Team Development

    Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to Senior Superintendents, Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents and Project Engineers and/or Interns across multiple projects.Partner with leadership to forecast staffing needs, support hiring efforts, and assist in performance evaluations for field roles.Support onboarding and training programs for new field personnel; reinforce consistent standards and best practices.Model and promote CHC values, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

    Operational Oversight

    Oversee field execution across multiple ground-up multifamily projects to ensure alignment with performance goals for schedule, budget, safety, and quality.Conduct routine jobsite visits to evaluate performance, identify risks, and support site leadership teams.
    Lead scheduling oversight by reviewing baseline and updated schedules; evaluating sequencing, manpower requirements, look-aheads, and recovery plans. Provide proactive guidance to ensure schedule alignment and successful delivery.Drive consistent implementation of jobsite logistics, phasing plans, and best-practice building methods.

    Safety & Quality Management

    Champion and reinforce company and OSHA safety policies across all field operations.Conduct recurring safety and quality audits; support corrective action plans.Ensure consistent application and improvement of the Quality Control Program.

    Preconstruction & Planning

    Participate in preconstruction efforts including site assessments, constructability reviews, logistics planning, and sequencing strategies.Provide input on staffing plans, site-specific schedule requirements, and potential field-execution challenges.

    Trade Partner & Client Relations

    Build and maintain strong relationships with trade partners, inspectors, consultants, and clients.Assist in evaluating trade contractor capacity, performance, and compliance across projects.Support conflict resolution and field-related issue escalation.

    Risk Identification & Reporting

    Monitor field performance to identify and report schedule risks, manpower concerns, trade performance issues, and safety trends.Communicate recurring field challenges and improvement opportunities to senior leadership.

    Physical Requirements

    Ability to walk, stand, and move around active construction sites for extended periods of time.Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and navigate uneven surfaces safely.Must be able to lift and carry materials or equipment up to 50 lbs. as needed.Comfortable working in outdoor conditions and varying weather.


    Required Experience & Qualifications

    15+ years of progressive experience leading large-scale ground-up multifamily projects (100+ units), including podium and/or garden-style construction.Experience overseeing multiple projects simultaneously as a General Superintendent.Strong expertise in multifamily construction scheduling, including baseline development, look-ahead management, recovery scheduling, sequencing, workforce planning, and logistics.Proven success in developing and leading high-performing field teams.Proficiency with plan/spec interpretation, construction documents, and field engineering principles.
    Proficient with Procore (construction software) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Exceptional communication and conflict-resolution skills; able to collaborate with all project stakeholders.Ability to travel between active projects and markets as required.Minimum OSHA 30 certification required.

    The Assistant Project Manager (APM) plays a key support role on the project management team, working closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure the successful execution of each project. The APM contributes to initial project start up, budget and schedule tracking, subcontractor coordination, documentation, and quality control. As projects near completion, the APM also assists with punch list execution and project closeout activities.

    Basic Responsibilities:

    Project Support and Coordination

    Job Summary

    The Assistant Superintendent will have exceptional communication skills, strong leadership skills, and the ability to multitask and work as a team. This team member will assist the Superintendent with overall onsite management of the project from inception to final acceptance.
