Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Land Surveyor and play a vital role in accurately mapping and analyzing land features to support construction, development, and engineering projects. You will utilize advanced surveying tools and techniques to gather precise data, interpret complex spatial information, and deliver detailed survey reports. Your expertise will help ensure project success through meticulous data collection, analysis, and documentation. Responsibilities
Conduct land surveys using GPS, total stations, 3D scanners, and other surveying equipment to collect accurate spatial data.Perform topographic surveys, ALTA surveys for property boundaries, and construction staking to guide project execution.Collaborate with civil engineers and architects to interpret survey results and integrate findings into project plans.Maintain comprehensive records of field notes, data collection logs, and survey documentation for future reference.Assist in the operation of advanced surveying technology such as laser scanners and drones for 3D modeling and terrain analysis.Review and approve various professional documents and ensure state standards are upheld.Supervise field crew in conducting field operations project.Manage boundary, ALTA, Topo, residential and construction projects as assigned.Maintain project budgets and reports.
Experience
Proven experience in land surveying with a strong understanding of civil engineering principles.Proficiency in CAD drafting software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Carlson.Familiarity with GPS technology, Trimble systems, and GIS platforms like ArcGIS for spatial data management.Knowledge of schematics development, construction layout procedures, and ALTA surveys standards.Ability to interpret technical schematics and perform complex math calculations involving trigonometry and algebra.Experience with data collection tools such as 3D scanners and total stations is highly desirable.Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams on diverse projects. Qualifications
Tennessee Survey license (Kentucky survey license a benefit but not required) must be willing to obtain Kentucky PLS licenseEngineer license a PLUS!
