This is an entry-level staff position with responsibilities for grounds and turf maintenance and appearance along with routine equipment operation and maintenance. The Turf Specialist I will work as part of a crew establishing, mowing, maintaining and improving turf areas on the estate. Other grounds duties include but are not limited to snow and ice removal from pathways, roads and parking areas, cleanup of storm debris, general trash and debris cleanup. Trail Guides work as a team in providing the highest possible levels of care for the horses and create world class equestrian experiences for guests. Duties include: general care, feeding and watering for the trail horses; daily cleaning and maintenance of the feedlot, catch corral and mounting corral; cleaning and maintenance for saddles and tack for the trail rides program; and assisting the farrier and vets in providing horse health care as needed. Additional duties may also include fence, pasture and trail maintenance as needed. The incumbent will also be expected to provide general assistance and support for the department, leadership, and company.
Schedule may vary, but hours are generally 7:45am - 6:15pm Friday - Monday. Weekend availability required.

7. Always maintain a level of preparedness in order to respond to any unforeseen emergency, either on the trail or at the barn.
8. Remove manure and debris from mounting corral, feedlot and around the barn as needed throughout the day.
9. Feed and water trail horses according to daily schedule.
10. Complete incident reports as needed, review with supervisor and send to Human Resources.
11. Support the Carriage Program staff to help in keeping all the guest areas as clean and inviting as possible.

Staff is always attentive and committed to serving the guest in a timely, friendly manner; work in a cohesive group to keep the area stocked, cleaned, and tidy in accordance with standards; and provide a world class experience for both internal and external guests. Staff will also offer general assistance and support to the team, department, and company as needed.
Shifts can vary-typically need Monday-Sunday 7am-5:30am availability
Essential Job Duties:
1. Serving and taking care of the guest.
2. Keeping the area stocked, well maintained, neat and tidy.
3. Keep product stocked and fresh at all times.
4. Responsible for learning Micros system.
5. Have excellent cash handling skills.
6. Keeping work area cleaned and sanitized following Health Department guidelines.
7. Knowledgeable on all menu offerings.
8. Cleaning of all coffee and espresso machines and preparation areas; completes all side work/duties and/or opening/closing procedures.
9. Will maintain general knowledge of Village Hotel and Antler Hill Village, Biltmore events and products, and Asheville area information.
Requirements:
1. Previous hospitality and/or guest service experience strongly preferred.
2. Must have a cheerful, caring, and considerate attitude and a genuine desire to deliver world class internal/external guest service; ability to engage and interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner a must.
3. Basic math skills and the ability to handle cash and credit transactions.
4. Must be adaptable to a fast paced environment and be a hard worker; can prioritize and multi-task work, and adapt as needed.
5. Ability to quickly learn Biltmore products/services, systems, and procedures. Strong team player; anticipates, is proactive, and exercises good judgment.
6. Must be at least 18 years old.
Physical Requirements:
1. Have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
2. Have the ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time.
3. Will be working in an environment with possible fluctuations in temperature/conditions.
