A prominent organization in the energy sector is seeking a Compliance & Ethics Analyst to support the operation of its corporate Compliance and Ethics Program. This role will work closely with the Director of Compliance & Ethics and will focus on policy coordination, training and awareness, and compliance assurance/monitoring activities, while also contributing to other key initiatives across the program.
Compliance & Ethics Analyst
Location: Downtown Houston
Schedule: Monday?Friday, 8:00 AM ? 5:00 PM
On-Site Requirement: 100% on-site
Contract Duration: Indefinite, with the goal to transition to hire
Parking: Provided
Key Responsibilities
Policy Management
Maintain corporate policies, standards, and procedures, including document control and tracking
Provide technical writing support for policy, standard, and procedure creation
Facilitate the review and approval process for policy-related documents
Perform quality checks on documents prior to approval and publication
Support IT enhancements to improve document workflow efficiency
Contribute to the development, integration, and maintenance of compliance-related policies to ensure alignment with legal, regulatory, and internal requirements
Training, Education & Awareness
Assist in developing and delivering Code of Business Conduct and Ethics training materials
Support training efforts for policies, standards, and procedures
Monitor training implementation and completion rates
Manage content updates for the Compliance & Ethics Storefront
Assurance & Monitoring
Support Travel & Expense monitoring to ensure compliance with policy; escalate potential violations
Assist with compliance assurance activities to provide accurate reporting on program effectiveness
Participate in compliance monitoring and risk indicator reviews
Contribute to periodic assessments of program elements (awareness, reporting, monitoring, etc.)
Support the distribution of risk assessment results and targeted mitigation initiatives
Additional Duties
Collaborate with peers and management to achieve Compliance & Ethics Program goals
Participate in special projects as assigned
Cross-train with other Compliance & Ethics teams to ensure coverage and continuity
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
Understanding of corporate policies, standards, and procedures, and their role in compliance programs
Strong oral and written communication skills
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment with sensitive matters
Capable of managing deadlines and responding to urgent requests under pressure
Education & Experience
Bachelors degree or equivalent corporate experience
Minimum of 3 years in a corporate environment (compliance or ethics experience preferred)
Technical writing experience preferred
Exposure to compliance and ethics program activities a plus
Project coordination experience preferred
