    JOB PURPOSE

    The purpose of this position is to coordinate and schedule maintenance and repairs for fleet vehicles

    EXPECTED RESULTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

    Receive work order requests and coordinate repairs with Area Managers, Fleet Manager, Fleet Maintenance Supervisors, and external repair facilities Maintain Department of Transportation (DOT) documentation and records Help maintain preventative maintenance schedules and vehicle inspection records for equipment through a computer-based management system Order, audit and maintain parts inventories Manage warranty tracking for parts and repairs Update and maintain notification alerts for Annual Vehicle Inspections (AVI's), PM's, etc. Research and respond to fleet related issues, concerns, and questions Reconcile data, enter data system changes, and maintain related files Update hours and mileage, labor hours, truck-down report, etc. Complete other administrative duties as they occur (copying, faxing, scanning, filing, calling, etc.) Other duties as assigned

    Pay Rate: $30-34 per hour based on Experience

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    Must be able to work weekday overtime and occasional weekends Must be able to provide premier customer service to internal/external customers including vendors Strong organization and attention to details skills, able to take initiative and multitask Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products Knowledgeable in computer applications and industry-specific software

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    High School Diploma or GED equivalent 5+ years of related experience working in a maintenance shop facility for heavy duty trucks preferred Ready mix fleet experience preferred

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENT

    Occasional travel to visit internal and external maintenance shops or parts distributors

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly sits for long periods of time, stands, walks, types, and occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs.

Reporting to the Fleet Maintenance Manager, the successful candidates will be responsible for the routine maintenance and repair of our Ready-Mix trucks while keeping our shop facilities safe and clean.     What You Will Be Doing

    Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing and electrical systems following specifications, and manualsVisually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to diagnose cause of malfunctionsAbility to diagnose and trouble shoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systemsCommunicates timely and effectively with shop leadership to keep them informed about major problemsMay operate mobile equipment including service truck to retrieve down truck assetsPerforms daily preventative maintenance, record and inspection on service vehicle to include fueling, cleaning, tire/light inspection, checking and adding fluids as needed.Services pumps/motors as neededPerform welding, repair and fabricationPurchase parts for repairs as neededMay make service calls at other BURNCO plants or job sites as neededAssist in training co-workers as neededPerforms general clean-up of work areaRequired to follow all BURNCO policies and proceduresPerform other duties as required

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    What You Will Be Doing

    Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing and electrical systems following specifications, and manualsVisually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to diagnose cause of malfunctionsAbility to diagnose and trouble shoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systemsCommunicates timely and effectively with shop leadership to keep them informed about major problemsMay operate mobile equipment including service truck to retrieve down truck assetsPerforms daily preventative maintenance, record and inspection on service vehicle to include fueling, cleaning, tire/light inspection, checking and adding fluids as needed.Services pumps/motors as neededPerform welding, repair and fabricationPurchase parts for repairs as neededMay make service calls at other BURNCO plants or job sites as neededAssist in training co-workers as neededPerforms general clean-up of work areaRequired to follow all BURNCO policies and proceduresPerform other duties as required

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    The primary areas of responsibility include:

    Proper Preventative MaintenanceTimely Response to Maintenance Service Requests

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    Good working knowledge of mechanics as related to truck and general maintenanceAbility to use power tools, welders, cutting torches/chains and various safety devicesDemonstrated knowledge of proper mechanic/maintenance procedures such as lockout/tag outs and special work permitsMust be proficient with computer and program systemsExperience with Allison transmissions, Davie 4 and ESA software a plusAbility to read, write and communicate in EnglishAbility to pass MVR (clean driving record)Commercial Driver’s License a plusProvide own personal tools up to ¾Ability to work well with others in a team environment

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    High School Diploma preferred3-5 years of Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic experience requiredExperience with concrete mixers preferred

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENT

    May be required to travel to various company facilities to perform maintenance activities

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly outside and exposed to various weather conditions including hot/cold temperatures and rain/snow conditions.Employee constantly uses eye/hand coordination, near vision and hearing.Employee frequently stands, walks, climbs, kneels, bends, reaches, lifts up to 50 lbs, carries up to 50 lbs, pushes, pulls and utilizes manual dexterity, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, far vision and color discernmentEmployee is exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, moving equipment, oil, debris, solvents, smokes, gasses, fumes and aggregate materials.Required PPE includes safety shoes above ankles, safety vests, safety glasses, ear plugs and hard hats. Additional PPE requirements needed for special jobs such as welding, repairing, etc. 

    Salary Rate: $30 - $34 based on Experience
