The Welding Process Engineer will work closely with our Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), who leads WPS, PQR, and inspection activities, to ensure alignment between process development and quality assurance.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    1. Analyze and improve welding process capability and throughput across aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and copper-nickel fabrication and welding areas.

    2. Identify and implement opportunities for automation, robotics, and advanced welding technologies to increase efficiency and consistency.

    3. Apply deep knowledge of welding metallurgy and materials science to understand and optimize weld behavior in both the weld metal and heat-affected zones of base materials.

    4. Design and manage welding sequences to align with production stages and different vessel types. Coordinate across teams to ensure sequences meet structural and scheduling needs.

    SUMMARY:

    Electricians are expected to install and repair electrical systems and electrical and electronic components on luxury yachts. They must be able to work with outside contractors. Must have knowledge to adjust and troubleshoot all electrical and electronic equipment as needed during the entire construction phase and any jobs as may be requested by the owners at the time of delivery.

    WORKING MATERIALS:

    Must be able to work various types of wiring, switchboards and sub panels typical of electrical/electronic work and be comfortable with expensive appliances and pieces of electrical/electronic equipment commonly used in luxury yachts.

    TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:

    Must have the ability to safely operate such equipment as: voltmeter, ammeter, continuity tester, other electronic test equipment, probe, soldering equipment, band saw, drill press and an assortment of hand and power tools and such other tools required in the electrician trade.

    Each person must directly supply their own hand tools per the attached tool list and must have them available in the yard and in working order throughout their employment period.

    SKILL LEVELS AND ADVANCEMENT:

    Electrical employees are categorized into three different skill levels beginning with level 1, with the highest level being 3. The advancement of an employee to a higher skill/wage level shall be made only when the Company has a continuing need for an employee to perform work at that level and when the employee convincingly meets the next level’s criteria. An employee’s immediate supervisor may recommend that they be advanced. This nomination will be reviewed by at least the Director of Manufacturing for approval with input from the Boat Managers, Electrical Coordinator or Engine Room Coordinator.

    Employees should expect that based on the ability of the person involved, they may move up a level or stay at the current level for longer periods than others working around them. In extremely rare cases, some may remain at their current skill level indefinitely. Although this would not be the Company’s goal, and likely not the goal of most employees, management does recognize that certain individuals are either unable or unwilling to learn the skills required to attain a higher level. Some employees may learn and adapt more quickly than others.

Procure stock and boat specific materials by obtaining estimates.Estimate stock needs and place orders for materials.Research and test new products or procedures.     POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Process Engineer is responsible for process design, developing and maintaining operational efficiencies, and leading the training and implementation of processes for one or more Value Streams in manufacturing. This includes evaluating and documenting current processes, designing and documenting improvements, training associates, and taking ownership of implementing each new process. The role also involves identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across operations, justifying and implementing new capital equipment to support process enhancements and production capabilities, and serving as the subject matter expert for key and core manufacturing processes to ensure technical excellence and consistency in execution. The Process Engineer reports to the Engineering Supervisor for a specific Value Stream.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    Evaluate production and engineering coordination to ensure successful execution of new builds, refits, and vessel repair projects, supporting schedule adherence and operational readiness through all phases of construction and commissioning.Assess production workflows to ensure critical decision milestones are clearly communicated and met, including scope alignment, schedule tracking, and compliance with construction specifications and labor hour budgets.Review daily time reporting from production and support teams to ensure accurate labor tracking, adherence to schedules and budgets, and to maintain reliable records for future planning and continuous improvement via the Burger Knowledge Base Encyclopedia.Maintain strong cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and other departments to ensure alignment of production activities with project goals and company standards.Serve as the primary liaison between production and engineering, ensuring seamless communication and coordination to optimize workflow efficiency and overall manufacturing performance.Participate in project status meetings and production reviews to ensure that processes are followed, budgets are respected, and schedules are maintained in alignment with the master plan and trade-specific timelines.Establish and refine production procedures and standards, continuously seeking opportunities to streamline workflows and eliminate inefficiencies across the manufacturing process.Coordinate research and implementation of new production methods and technologies, while archiving practical knowledge and process improvements to keep the Burger Knowledge Base current and relevant.Assist with cost estimating and production planning for new construction projects, including budget development, specification alignment, and hands-on support for daily manufacturing tasks such as interpreting drawings, managing change orders, sourcing materials, and resolving production issues.

    LEADERSHIP:

    SUMMARY:

    Electricians are expected to install and repair electrical systems and electrical and electronic components on luxury yachts. They must be able to work with outside contractors. Must have knowledge to adjust and troubleshoot all electrical and electronic equipment as needed during the entire construction phase and any jobs as may be requested by the owners at the time of delivery.

    WORKING MATERIALS:

    Must be able to work various types of wiring, switchboards and sub panels typical of electrical/electronic work and be comfortable with expensive appliances and pieces of electrical/electronic equipment commonly used in luxury yachts.

    TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:

    Must have the ability to safely operate such equipment as: voltmeter, ammeter, continuity tester, other electronic test equipment, probe, soldering equipment, band saw, drill press and an assortment of hand and power tools and such other tools required in the electrician trade.

    Each person must directly supply their own hand tools per the attached tool list and must have them available in the yard and in working order throughout their employment period.

    SKILL LEVELS AND ADVANCEMENT:

    Electrical employees are categorized into three different skill levels beginning with level 1, with the highest level being 3. The advancement of an employee to a higher skill/wage level shall be made only when the Company has a continuing need for an employee to perform work at that level and when the employee convincingly meets the next level’s criteria. An employee’s immediate supervisor may recommend that they be advanced. This nomination will be reviewed by at least the Director of Manufacturing for approval with input from the Boat Managers, Electrical Coordinator or Engine Room Coordinator.

    Employees should expect that based on the ability of the person involved, they may move up a level or stay at the current level for longer periods than others working around them. In extremely rare cases, some may remain at their current skill level indefinitely. Although this would not be the Company’s goal, and likely not the goal of most employees, management does recognize that certain individuals are either unable or unwilling to learn the skills required to attain a higher level. Some employees may learn and adapt more quickly than others.
