Your Role at BSI
With the focus to serve the client and provide superior project delivery, the architecture group works closely with all engineering disciplines and provides technical leadership for the team. Our Architecture team consults our clients regarding designs for new buildings, restoring and conserving old buildings and developing new ways of using existing buildings. They provide experienced direction on developing project programs and design. Leads in the development of projects from preliminary through detailed construction documents. The Architecture group performs in all of BSI market segments and collaborates with all project team members.
To support collaboration, mentorship opportunities, and effective project execution, BSI Engineering has adopted a hybrid work schedule in which employees are in the office a minimum of three days per week.
Responsibilities and Scope

Instrumentation & Controls Designer Co-op - Fall 2026 (August - December)
Your Role at BSI
BSI Engineering is searching for a student interested in an exciting opportunity to work with our Instrumentation, Controls, and Automation Department. Our ICA Department Engineers design /select process instrumentation and control systems for use in chemical manufacturing, food and beverage, renewable energies, pharmaceutical, and aviation industries. The department has design engineering experience with all aspects of PLC & DCS based control system design, implementation, retrofits, hybrid control systems, and instrumentation projects.
We are seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Designer co-op employee for the Fall of 2026. We will provide a learning environment supervised by senior engineers and designers with extensive experience in instrumentation and automation. Electrical Engineer

Our Electrical Engineering team has many years of experience designing power distribution systems for clients in many different industries. Our Electrical Engineers work closely with our full-service team to ensure a fully integrated design package of the highest quality is provided. They assess client needs and create designs that ensure Code compliance and personnel safety, while achieving the client’s desired goals. Project scopes will range from full facility and process designs for greenfield projects to retrofits and upgrades of equipment in existing sites.

Execute electrical engineering design scope for single and multi-discipline projects while ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and standards. Structural Designer
Your Role at BSI
A key member of our Civil/Structural team, the Structural Designer possesses strong knowledge of steel, concrete, masonry, and wood design in industrial settings. They ensure our design packages follows client and industry standards. The ideal candidate works well in a team environment, has experience working with multi-discipline teams, and strives to provide quality designs to our clients.

Developing, implementing, and maintaining BIM workflow and standards in Revit within our department and in coordination with those outside the department.Support project start-up workflow, helping teams develop strategies for effective delivery of quality documents, and ensure that each one is setup correctly.Oversee the use of BIM/Revit software within the department as well as analyzing and solving BIM user issues.Provide end-user training, support, and leadership within the department.Support the department by creating content libraries and template files and conducting intermittent model audits to ensure proper families and standards are being utilized and met.Manage the implementation of supporting software and plug-ins for BIM.Research and stay up to date on the best practices for use of Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM. The Architectural Designer is responsible for assisting with the design and detail drawing packages for our clients. They work closely with all in-house engineering disciplines to create quality designs. Our group is made up of talented and hard-working individuals, and we are looking forward to adding another member to our team.
To support collaboration, mentorship opportunities, and effective project execution, BSI Engineering has adopted a hybrid work schedule in which employees are in the office a minimum of three days per week.
Responsibilities and Scope
Reports directly to the Manager of ArchitectureParticipates in programming efforts with clients and gathers necessary field dataParticipates in interdisciplinary coordination efforts to ensure project objectives are being metAssists in developing designs and detailsPrepares and modifies architectural documents, elevations, sections, details, etc. using RevitContinues to develop and improve the quality of design and documentation within the firm while taking leadership in related effortsAssists in preparing material take-offs for estimating efforts as requiredParticipates in Construction administration supportQualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Design, Architectural Technology or a related field of study3+ years post graduate experienceProficient in Revit Working knowledge of 3D visualization and rendering softwareStrong knowledge of general building systems, functions and designStrong knowledge of construction techniques, materials, methods and industry standardsGood presentation and decision-making skillsMotivated self-starter with ability to work independently Proficient at setting priorities and managing multiple tasksGood written and oral communication skillsPositive conflict resolution skillsWhat We Offer

Structural Engineer
Your Role at BSI
A key member of our Civil/Structural team, the Structural Engineer possesses strong knowledge of steel, concrete, masonry, and wood design in industrial settings. They perform necessary calculations and ensure that the structural scope of our design packages follows client and industry standards. The ideal candidate works well in a team environment, has experience working with multi-discipline teams, and strives to provide quality designs to our clients.

Responsibilities and Scope
Gathers field data and inspects sites and structures to evaluate existing conditions when necessaryWith minimal supervision, performs and ensures all calculations and design efforts to prepare deliverablesEnsures structural design is accurate and coordinated within the model and drawingsCoordinates and communicates with designers on projects and establishes clear directionWrites project-based documents including, but not limited to: studies, project notes, scope, close-out reportsSelects appropriate construction materialsObtains plans and building regulation approvalsCoordinates with outside consultants and contractors when required (geotechnical engineers, construction contractors, etc.)Participates in construction support, startup, and commissioning effortsFollows the BSI Standard Operating Procedures and Client Standards, ensuring quality and technical accuracy of project deliverablesEstablishes and manages their own engineering schedule and budget objectives on assigned projectsSigns off on drawing packages if PE License is obtainedQualifications
2+ years of experience in a Structural Engineering role designing structures in steel, concrete, masonry, and/or woodBachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering or related fieldSkilled with Risa-3DFamiliar with necessary codes, including but not limited to: IBC, ASCE, ACI 318, AISC, and NDSCompetent in selecting construction materials, construction methods, and industry standardsStrong structural analysis experience, including 3D and solid finite element modelingPE License preferred, not requiredWhat We Offer
