Bristol Precision continues to grow its prototype and small-batch aerospace, medical, and scientific programs. This Lead CNC Mill Machinist role exists to strengthen setup consistency, improve daily execution, and support the development of the milling team.
This is a hands-on leadership position in a certified, high-precision environment where quality and accountability matter.
What You'll Be Doing
Set up and run complex CNC milling jobs in a high-mix, tight-tolerance environment Work from Mastercam programs and make edits at the machine as needed Select tooling, set offsets, and verify workholding Perform first-article and in-process inspections Troubleshoot machining issues to maintain workflow Lead daily workflow for setup machinists and operators Train and mentor team members on setup efficiency and quality standards Promote standardized, repeatable setups Coordinate closely with production leadershipThis is not a desk role - you'll be leading from the floor.

This Production Manager role exists to strengthen daily execution, improve flow across approximately 20 CNC machines, and elevate the performance of a skilled machining team in an ISO-certified environment.
You will work directly with ownership to remove bottlenecks, improve systems, and help the shop operate at its highest level.
What You'll Be Doing
Plan and schedule workflow across approximately 20 CNC machines Prepare jobs for production by confirming program readiness, materials, tooling, and inspection requirements Balance machine capacity, customer priorities, and labor resources Lead setup machinists and operators with clear daily expectations Build accountability and ownership within the team Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient shop floor Coordinate communication between programming, quality, and operations Evaluate job estimates, setup times, and run times for alignment with performance goals Identify bottlenecks and implement practical process improvementsThis is a hands-on leadership role inside a precision machining environment - not an office-only management position.

This is not a button-pushing role. You'll have real influence over how parts are programmed, documented, and executed on the floor.

Program complex 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC milling jobs using Mastercam Develop efficient machining strategies and optimize cycle times Build complete prototype programs from print to proven process Set up and validate first-piece parts as needed Create clear, thorough setup documentation for machinists Standardize tooling and programming methods to improve repeatability Collaborate with setup machinists, production leadership, and quality Mentor programmers and machinists on best practices Specify material, tooling, and inspection requirementsThis role combines high-level programming with hands-on validation and leadership.
