    Job DescriptionJob Description

    Seeking a contract Senior Accounting Manager for a consumer product goods (CPG) client in Chicago, IL near Fulton Market DistrictHybrid - 3 days in office.

    Prior / recent QuickBooks ERP and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) experience required.

    This role will play an important role in the month-end close process, financial reporting, inventory and COGS-related accounting, accounts receivable, and day-to-day accounting operations.


    Primary Responsibilities:

    Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities to ensure timely, accurate, and reliable financial reportingOwn and improve recurring accounting workflows, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and general ledger maintenanceSupport accurate accounting for inventory, COGS, and product-related costs, ensuring financial reporting reflects operational realitiesPartner with Operations, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to understand cost drivers, resolve accounting issues, and improve reporting accuracyOversee and improve accounts receivable processes, including customer payments, reconciliations, and related reportingReview and improve QuickBooks workflows to increase accuracy, reduce manual work, and support a cleaner month-end closeHelp document accounting processes, identify gaps or redundancies, and create clear SOPsMaintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets and support GAAP complianceWork with external stakeholders, including auditors, third-party accounting partners, contractors, and our parent companySupport ad hoc accounting, reporting, and process improvement projects as needed


    Qualifications:

    4+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, ideally with hands-on month-end close ownershipExperience in ecommerce, DTC, manufacturing, food, consumer products, or inventory-based businessesHands-on exposure to COGS, inventory accounting, product costing, or cost accounting workflowsExperience working in QuickBooks Desktop or QuickBooks Enterprise strongly preferredStrong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, reconciliations, accruals, and internal controlsAdvanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and working with large or messy data setsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferredCPA certification or active pursuit of CPA license preferred, but not required

    Seeking a contract Capital Expenditures (CapEx) / Finance Operations Manager for a manufacturing client near Aurora, ILHybrid - 3 days in office.

    Prior / recent Operational Finance and Capital Expenditure administration experience required.

    This role will support major capital initiatives by combining financial analysis with a strong understanding of manufacturing operations.


    Primary Responsibilities:

    Partner with Operations and Engineering leaders to develop financial models, investment analyses, and business cases for large-scale Capex projects.Translate technical, engineering, and operational assumptions into clear financial impacts and executive-level recommendations.Ensure capital requests comply with established Capex governance, approval, documentation, and financial-return requirements.Coordinate with the Capex Management team to track project spending, update forecasts, identify risks, and optimize capital allocation.Evaluate project economics, including cost savings, productivity improvements, capacity expansion, working capital implications, and return on investment.Provide hands-on financial support throughout the project lifecycle, from initial planning and approval through execution and post-investment review.


    Qualifications:

    Direct, hands-on experience managing or supporting Capex processes from planning and business-case development through execution and tracking.Strong manufacturing finance background, ideally within packaging or another capital-intensive manufacturing environment.Advanced financial modeling and operational cost-benefit analysis skills.Ability to work effectively with engineering, plant operations, finance, and executive leadership.Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical and financial information.
