We are seeking an experienced and dynamic *Fitness Manager* to lead our fitness center operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for health and wellness. This role involves overseeing daily activities, managing staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving the overall success of the facility. The Fitness Manager will play a key role in creating a motivating environment that encourages member engagement and retention.
Duties
Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the fitness center to ensure smooth functioning.Recruit, interview, and onboard new staff members, providing comprehensive employee orientation and ongoing training & development.Manage employee schedules, shift management, and payroll processing to maintain optimal staffing levels.Oversee inventory management, including equipment maintenance, purchasing, stock control, and merchandising of retail products.Handle customer service inquiries, resolve issues promptly, and ensure members have a positive experience.Implement marketing strategies to promote membership sales and special programs.Conduct sales management activities such as pricing strategies, retail sales, and promotional campaigns.Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and perform basic administrative tasks related to store management.Monitor retail math metrics including inventory control, sales targets, and store performance.Ensure compliance with safety standards and health regulations within the facility.Utilize POS systems for transactions including cashiering and cash handling duties.Lead team management efforts by supervising staff performance, conducting evaluations, and fostering a team-oriented environment.
Qualifications
Proven management experience in retail or fitness environments with supervisory responsibilities.Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting.Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.Experience with employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, payroll processing, bookkeeping, inventory management, and POS systems.Demonstrated leadership capabilities with previous assistant manager or store management experience preferred.Knowledge of retail sales techniques, marketing strategies, pricing models, and sales management principles.Familiarity with budgeting, merchandising, stock control, inventory management software, and retail math calculations.Exceptional customer service skills along with phone etiquette and organizational skills.Ability to manage time efficiently while overseeing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
