Position Overview
Bricolage Academy is seeking an exceptional, student-centered, equity-driven leader to serve as our next Principal. This leader will build upon the strong foundation of our school community while helping shape the next chapter of Bricolage.
The ideal candidate is a courageous instructional leader who believes deeply in progressive, personalized, and competency-based learning while also ensuring rigorous academic outcomes for every student. This person must be able to lead through complexity, inspire adults and children alike, and cultivate a joyful and inclusive culture rooted in high expectations.
Primary Responsibilities
Visionary & Courageous Leadership

Build and sustain an inclusive, joyful, and equitable school culturePartner closely with families and community stakeholdersSupport student social-emotional growth and Habits of SuccessLead restorative and relationship-centered approaches to student disciplineTalent Recruitment & Development
Recruit, hire, develop, and retain exceptional educators and leadersBuild a diverse and culturally responsive staff communityFoster collaboration, trust, accountability, and professional learning among staffDevelop leadership capacity across the schoolOperational & Strategic Leadership
Ensure strong school systems, operations, and organizational effectivenessUse data strategically to inform decision-making and improve outcomesCollaborate with network leadership to support long-term strategic goalsManage competing priorities while maintaining a focus on students and staffQualifications
Required Qualifications
Deep alignment with the mission, vision, and core values of Bricolage AcademyBachelor’s degree requiredMinimum of 5 years of successful teaching experienceMinimum of 3 years of school leadership or administrative experienceDemonstrated success improving student achievement and school cultureStrong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skillsCommitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racist leadership practicesPreferred Qualifications
Master’s degree, EdD, or PhDLouisiana Educational Leadership certification (EDL Level 1–3)Previous experience serving as a middle/elementary school principalExperience with competency-based, personalized, and/or project-based learning modelsExperience leading diverse school communitiesWhat Makes Bricolage Different
