    Position Summary:

    The Refrigeration Maintenance Technician (1st Shift) will perform daily activities that support the facility's refrigeration systems and related equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. This role plays a critical part in maintaining safe and efficient operations by performing timely repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of ammonia refrigeration systems, HVAC units, and other cooling-related infrastructure. The technician will also support production by resolving mechanical and electrical issues related to refrigeration and freezing equipment.


    Responsibilities:

    Perform daily inspections of primary compressors in the main plant and tri-weekly checks at the Frozen Storage facility.

    Conduct preventive maintenance and timely repairs on refrigeration, HVAC, and cooling systems across all facilities.

    Troubleshoot refrigeration, cooling, and heating issues to minimize production downtime and ensure system reliability.

    Maintain and repair ammonia refrigeration systems, including compressors, evaporators, condensers, and control systems.

    Support production by servicing freezing and packaging equipment tied to refrigeration processes.

    Interpret and work from schematic drawings, refrigeration flow diagrams, and electrical schematics.

    Utilize CMMS software to log maintenance activities, PMs, and work orders.

    Demonstrate working knowledge of electrical systems including VFDs, PLCs, and industrial controls.

    Follow all safety protocols including LOTO and proper PPE usage.

    Maintain accessibility for emergency troubleshooting and system support.

    Preferred knowledge of FORMAX, HVAC, HAZMAT, MULTIVAC, and Ammonia Refrigeration systems.

    Requirements:

    Minimum Qualifications

    MUST have experience with Ammonia and CO2 refrigeration systems.

    High School Diploma or equivalent.

    Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.

    Ability to lift 50-80 pounds and perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, and reaching.

    Able to participate in the company's HazMat Team and work weekends as needed.

    Proficient in reading work instructions and using hand/power tools.

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    Team-oriented, safety-conscious, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

    Position Summary:

    The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily operations within the grinding and packaging department. This role provides direct oversight of hourly team members, with a strong focus on safety, team development, and consistent delivery of high-quality, food-safe product. The Supervisor partners closely with Quality and other support teams to ensure operational standards are met. A key focus will be on identifying opportunities to improve processes, reducing waste, and enhancing overall productivity and profitability.


    Responsibilities:

    Coordinate grinding and packaging department activities to align with overall business objectives and operational plans.

    Assess administrative needs, allocate resources, and monitor performance to support operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.

    Oversee daily production operations, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.

    Collaborate with Human Resources, Supervisors, and Leads to support staffing needs and lead, coach, and support team performance.

    Recommend, test, and implement new equipment to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.

    Maintain oversight of assigned production areas and personnel during assigned shifts.

    Ensure accurate documentation of production data, including yields and new product performance, within the database.

    Prepare and submit operational and performance reports as required.

    Actively participate in the HACCP team to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.

    Serve on safety committees and contribute to continuous improvement of workplace safety practices.

    Liaise with Sales, R&D, and Quality teams to support product development, resolve customer complaints, and improve existing products.

    Coordinate with Maintenance to ensure equipment readiness and minimize downtime.

    Work closely with USDA inspectors to maintain compliance with federal regulations.

    Participate in crisis management planning and response activities related to production, food safety, or workplace incidents.

    Lead regular production meetings to communicate updates, changes, and foster team engagement.

    Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

    Serve as an active member of the HAZMAT Team as required.

    Utilize designated production planning and scheduling systems (e.g., ROSS).

    Requirements:

    Minimum Qualifications

    Minimum 5 years of experience in food manufacturing, including leadership or supervisory responsibility.

    Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and support hourly teams in a production environment.
    Strong understanding of food safety, quality, and workplace safety requirements, including familiarity with USDA, SQF, and OSHA standards.

    Ability to manage competing priorities, make sound decisions, and support consistent production performance.

    Working knowledge of production documentation, basic computer systems, and mathematical concepts related to manufacturing.

    Effective written and verbal communication skills.

    Ability to identify and resolve operational, process, and personnel issues.

    Flexible availability to support varied work schedules.


    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience in protein, ready-to-eat, or high-volume food manufacturing environments.

    Experience with grinding, patty-making, or similar protein processing operations.

    Familiarity with Formax equipment, grinders, or related production machinery.

    Experience partnering with Quality and regulatory teams, including interaction with USDA inspectors.

    Working knowledge of employee relations practices and performance accountability.

    Experience participating in HACCP programs, safety committees, or continuous improvement initiatives.

    Exposure to production planning or scheduling systems (e.g., ROSS).

    Position Summary:

    While maintaining a safe work environment, perform daily activities that support the production department through timely repairs of grinding, forming, freezing, and packaging equipment. You will have a key role in preventing production line stoppage by resolving mechanical and electrical related issues while completing scheduled PM's, accurately recording work in a CMMS program, utilizing good troubleshooting skills, and following mechanical work orders.


    Responsibilities:

    Analyze mechanical and operation processing equipment and resolve issues with hand tools and trade tools.

    Repair production equipment including mechanical systems which may include Hydraulic and Pneumatic operated equipment.

    Trouble shoot electrical problems to include opening electrical panels, replacing starters, contactors, relays, interpreting electrical schematics etc.

    Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, forming equipment, conveyor systems, packaging machines, following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.

    Able to demonstrate knowledge of electrical skills with VFD's and PLC's. Industrial electrical installs, services, repairs, wiring, conduits, fixtures and other electrical devices and systems in an industrial environment.

    Read and interpret schematic drawings.

    Perform preventative maintenance of production equipment following standard operating procedures.

    Ability to use a computer-based program for entering labor hours, PMs, reactive and safety work orders.

    Maintain a safe workplace by wearing appropriate PPE and following all safety procedures including LO/TO.

    Knowledge of FORMAX, HVAC, HAZMAT, MULTIVAC, Ammonia Refrigeration preferred.


    Machinery:

    Meat grinding equipment, beef patty forming equipment, liquid nitrogen freezers, vacuum pack, and roll stock machines as well as various types of packaging equipment.


    Requirements:

    Minimum Qualifications

    Must be able to lift to 60-80 pounds when required to assist in various functions of the facility.

    Must be able to perform physical activity including bending, climbing, and reaching.

    Ability to read and follow written work instructions, use common hand, and power tools, climb ladder, and work in elevated areas.

    Temperature: The production floor is maintained at approximately 4O F.; in other areas, the temperature level is moderate. Freezer areas are zero degrees or colder.

    Noise: When the incumbent goes on to the production floor, ear protection is required; in other areas, noise level is moderate.

    Completion of formal two-year educational program in Industrial Maintenance or 1-2 years related work experience with good mechanical and electrical skills will be considered.

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Accepts feedback, listens well, shows respect, and can present ideas and disseminate information clearly and concisely.

    Highly disciplined, logical thinking, team oriented and strong work ethic.

    Can handle a fast-paced work environment, fair workload, meet deadlines and commitments and accept responsibility for their actions.
