The Senior Commodity Risk Analyst is a strategic support position within the Commodity Risk function and bp's Trading and Shipping Finance. You will work with cross functional teams to develop solutions that drive continuous improvement and innovation across our commodity risk management teams. Areas of focus include interfaces with trading and supply benches, exposure and P&L reporting, and analytics to support business insights, including working capital and cash. This role will be based out of our Chicago, IL office.
Key Accountabilities
Development of high quality, insightful, value added and automated management information.
Work closely with managers and analysts to understand and clarify requirements.
Identify/evaluate/recommend and implement digital applications/tools/solutions that can be leveraged by our commodity risk teams.
Identification, development, and/or implementation of tools, templates, and accelerators for ensuring timely validation of deal blotters and business summaries from the front office, price curves, deal level MTM, exposure and P&L.
Be a superuser for bp's trading and risk management systems.
Support regional and global process standardization initiatives. Work collaboratively with Global Finance and Risk team to follow standards and best practices for CI development.
Work with cross functional teams (i.e., front, middle, back office, information technology, operational excellence & transformation) to deliver continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.
About You
Ideal candidates will have a bachelor's degree with finance, risk or other proven technical experience. You will have a good understanding of commodity risk management principles and practices. You should be proficient in digital tools/languages such as PowerBI, Microsoft Office, VBA, Python, SQL, Power Automate, SharePoint, Trading & Risk Systems.

How much do we pay (Base)? $93,300 - $173,300 Note that the pay range listed for this position is a genuinely expected and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting.
This position offers paid vacation depending on your years of relevant industry experience and will range from 120 - 240 hours of vacation per year for full times employees (60 - 240 hours of vacation per year for part time employees). We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to lead the electrical design and execution across oil and gas facilities within our Facilities Engineering & Construction team. This role will manage standard electrical designs, specify and design instrumentation and control systems, oversee commissioning, and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. Key AccountabilitiesStandard Design
Lead and maintain standard electrical design for upstream facilities, including equipment specification, procurement, and construction support.Develop and maintain electrical design standards for power distribution, grounding, motor control, MCCs, VFDs, heat trace, and facility power systems.Specify and procure electrical equipment including power distribution equipment, transformers, MCCs, VFDs, motor starters, heat tracing systems, and electrical panels.Oversee purchasing and supply chain activities related to electrical scope, including scheduling, ordering, expediting, and cost tracking.Evaluate alternative electrical designs and equipment selections, assessing impacts to safety, reliability, operability, and cost.Review electrical portions of equipment RFPs for facilities (separators, heaters, VRUs, Instrument Air skids, compressors, coolers, etc.).Participate in HAZOP / PHA design reviews, providing electrical and power system expertise.Work closely with Facilities Engineering to align electrical design with mechanical, process, and civil requirements.Collaborate with Operations to incorporate operability, maintainability, and safety feedback into electrical designs.Per Pad Execution
Develop and review site specific electrical drawings, including one lines, grounding plans, area classification drawings, conduit/cable schedules, and load calculations.Provide electrical design input for power distribution layouts, motor loads, voltage drop, short circuit considerations, and equipment ratings.Support and respond to RFIs related to electrical construction, equipment installation, and code compliance.Coordinate with Field Electrical / I&E technicians to support site execution and resolve field issues.Coordinate with local utilities for electrical service design, load letters, meter requirements, and service energization.Perform site walkdowns and inspections to verify electrical installation quality and compliance with construction drawings, NEC, and BPX standards.Support troubleshooting of electrical power issues, motor drives, and facility electrical equipment, both on site and remotely.Ensure all arc flash studies are performed and equipment is properly labeled. The Senior GIS Specialist at bpx Midstream will own and mature the enterprise GIS program, supporting pipeline operations across the Permian and Eagle Ford basins. This role transforms GIS from a map-making function into a decision-making platform by building an authoritative spatial data foundation, integrating with inspection, operations, and compliance systems, and delivering risk-based analytics that drive operational and integrity decisions.
Reporting into the Integrity and Quality group the specialist will ensure the program stays operationally driven. They will design the enterprise data model and standards, build spatial dashboards, lead mobile field data collection workflows, and own the long-term capability roadmap from foundational centerline data through predictive analytics and digital twin integration.
This is a greenfield opportunity to stand up a GIS program from the ground up within a growing midstream organization operating over 2,000 miles of gathering pipelines. The successful candidate will combine pipeline operations knowledge with enterprise GIS architecture skills to deliver measurable value across inspection planning, construction support, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Accountabilities Design, build, and maintain the enterprise GIS data model for all midstream pipeline assets including accurate centerlines, pipe specifications, valve/fitting locations, and class location boundaries.Digitize as-built drawings, survey data, and legacy records into the GIS platform, establishing a single authoritative source of pipeline spatial data.Integrate GIS with operations data, inspection records (ILI, cathodic protection, leakage surveys), work order systems, and ERP platforms to enable cross-functional analysis.Develop and maintain HCA (High Consequence Area) analysis, class location studies, and regulatory compliance workflows aligned with PHMSA, CFR 192, and CFR 195 requirements.Lead mobile GIS field collection workflows, training field personnel on spatial data capture during construction, inspection, and maintenance activities.Support construction and capital projects with route optimization, as-built capture at construction, and permitting efficiency through spatial analysis.Establish and manage One-Call/811 integration and stand up a drone-based ROW inspection program for pipeline right-of-way monitoring.Own the GIS capability maturity roadmap, progressing from foundational data (months 0-6) through integration, analysis, optimization, and enterprise-level digital twin capabilities.Serve as the primary GIS vendor relationship owner, configuring web applications and dashboards.Provide emergency response spatial support including rapid map generation, affected-area analysis, and proximity assessments during pipeline incidents.Develop automated compliance reporting and spatial analytics using Python and SQL to reduce manual effort and improve data quality.Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, construction, facility engineering, and project development teams to ensure GIS supports day-to-day decision-making.Participate in bp technical networks and communities of practice, maintaining awareness of GIS industry advancements and best practices in pipeline spatial data management.Follow bp's Engineering Principles, comply with bp's Code of Conduct, and model bp's Values & Behaviors Essential Experience and Education Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Geospatial Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline5-10 years of professional GIS experience, with at least 3 years supporting oil and gas pipeline or midstream operations.Expert proficiency with Esri ArcGIS platform: ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise/Online, ArcGIS Field Maps, and ArcGIS Dashboards.Strong working knowledge of Python (ArcPy, Pandas, geopandas) and SQL for spatial data automation, ETL, and analysis.In-depth understanding of pipeline systems including gathering, transmission, and facility infrastructure, and how GIS applies to integrity management.Thorough understanding of Class and HCA calculations as they apply to CFR Parts 192 and 195, and familiarity with PHMSA regulatory requirements.Experience integrating GIS with enterprise systems such as SCADA, inspection databases, work order management, and ERP platforms (e.g., SAP).Experience building spatial risk models, dashboards, and decision-support tools for pipeline integrity and operations teams.Knowledge of geodatabase design, enterprise data modeling, and spatial data standards for pipeline assets.Experience with mobile GIS data collection platforms for field use (e.g., ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123).Familiarity with Esri Model Builder, FME, or similar data ETL/transformation tools.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical GIS concepts for non-technical stakeholders.Self-directed and able to work effectively with minimal supervision in a cross-functional team environment.Ability to travel to field locations in the Permian Basin and Eagle Ford as needed (approximately 10-20% travel).Ability to spend time in the field with the team focused on safety leadership and execution performanceHow much do we pay (Base) $128,000-$151,000.
