    REPORTS TO: Branch Director/Program Director

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Provides support and direction for activities provided within a specifically-focused program area, such as Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, and Physical Education.

    KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

    Prepare Youth for Success

    Create a SAFE environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development OutcomesPromote and stimulate program participation; while ensuring the five key elements for positive youth development occur daily:FunSupportive RelationshipsSafe and Positive EnvironmentOpportunitiesExpectations and recognitionEnsure the physical and emotional health and safety of club members at all timesProvide guidance and act as a role model / mentor to assure conduct, safety and development of all membersHelp maintain facilities and equipment to ensure a productive and clean work environment, reporting major issues to supervisorMaintain close professional contact with all staff members, supervisor, and volunteers to communicate on Club operations and the needs of members.

    Program Development and Implementation

    Effectively implement and administer programs, services and activities for drop-in members and visitors ages 6-18Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the branch at all times.Work with branch staff to prepare periodic activity reports and receive instruction and constructive feedback to develop skills in program areas.Ensure a productive work environment by participating in weekly branch staff meetings.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Participate in the implementation and delivery of other unit activities and events as necessaryMay assist in new member registration and orientation.Additional duties as assigned

    RELATIONSHIPS:

    Internal: Maintains valued, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/ instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.

    External: Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in resolving problems.

    SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: (Education, experience, skills required)

    High School diploma or GED.Experience in working with children.Ability to operate recent technology and mobile applications (Tik Tok, Class Dojo, Instagram, and more)Knowledge of youth development.Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.Ability to deal with the general public.Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications.Valid Driver’s License

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    Requires the ability to speak, hear, use a personal computer for standard business communications, and the ability lift up to 15 lbs.

Provide documented examples of prevention strategies used at your Club. Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills. Experience working with teens and developing programs for diverse populations. Proficiency in data analysis and outcomes-based program evaluation. Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.     POSITION SUMMARY: The Program Leader/Bus Driver provides support, guidance, and direct supervision in various program areas, including Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, and Physical Education. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for safely transporting Club members from local schools to the Club using a 14- passenger bus.

    KEY DUTIES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

    Program Development and Implementation:

    Plan, implement, and supervise high-quality programs and activities for youth ages 6-18. Continuously monitor and evaluate programs for quality, safety, and member engagement.

    Assist branch staff in preparing activity reports and actively participate in weekly staff meetings for continuous program improvement.

    Transportation Duties:

    Safely transport Club members from assigned schools to Club locations in a timely manner. Adhere strictly to traffic and highway safety regulations, ensuring the safety of passengers.

    Perform thorough inspections of the bus before and after each route, documenting any concerns or necessary repairs and reporting to Branch Director.

    Maintain accurate records including:

    Route sheetsTimesheetsIncident or accident reports

    Ensure the bus maintains a fuel level of at least a quarter tank before commencing each route.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Support the execution of special events and other Club activities as required. Assist in new member registration and orientation processes.

    PRIMARY FUNCTION:

    Childcare specialist provides support and direction for activities provided within a specifically-focused program area, such as Education, Special Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, and Physical Education.

    KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

    Enforces the development of appropriate daycare-related policies.Creates engaging and enriching lesson plans for age-appropriate programming. Transports club members in club vehicles during school year and summer camp.Maintains confidentiality of all members participating in club programming. Enforces policies set by state licensing agency.     QUALIFICATIONS:

    Childcare Specialist shall be at least 18 years of age, have fulfilled a high school program completion or the equivalent, and meet one of the following:

    Have an endorsement or bachelor's degree in a child-related field such as, but not limited to, elementary education, nursing, or recreation, from a college or university.Have three months of programmatic experience and at least one of the following education backgrounds:A one-year early childhood certificate from a college or university that consists of at least 30 semester hours.A child development credential by an organization listed in § 22.1-289.048 of the Code of Virginia.A teaching diploma from an internationally or nationally recognized Montessori organization; orHave six months of supervised programmatic experience.Excellent organizational, communication, interviewing, and listening skills.Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics.CPR and First Aid Certifications preferred.Ability to deal effectively with diverse groups of parents and children.
