He/ she will build rapport with members through positive interactions in program activities. The Group Leader will also assist in managing program assistants and volunteers. ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate the daily activities of a group of 10-21 boys (ages 10-13)Plan, implement, and facilitate age-appropriate curriculum, activities, and games for membersProvide guidance, problem-solving, facilitation, and behavior modification as neededParticipate in indoor and outdoor activitiesAssist with daily set-up, daily clean up, and transportationEnsure proper care of all area materials, organize room and report any misused or damaged materials to the Program Director Use behavior management strategies to defuse inappropriate behavior and communicate behavior incidents with the Age Group Director and other necessary staffAttend mandatory professional development trainingsOther duties as assignedJob RequirementsThis position requires that the employee be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and you will be asked to submit proof of having received at least one dose of the vaccine prior to your start date and you must submit proof of full vaccination within 3 weeks of your start date. They oversee an annual budget that sustains a programmatic focus on leadership, character, life-skills, and healthy living, and provides opportunities for youth to build knowledge, skills, and values in a meaningful and fun context through evidence-based curriculum and lesson plans. The Junior Director hires and supervises frontline staff and volunteers and works closely with the Assistant Clubhouse Director and program development staff to create effective programs.ResponsibilitiesManage all aspects of age-specific programs and activities for boys ages 10-12, including life skills, recreation, character development, and healthy living. This includes planning, organizing, ensuring successful implementation, and data collection.Plan and conduct creative activities that provide members decision-making and leadership opportunitiesOrganize and maintain the junior room program area to foster physical and emotional safety, encourage creativity, and meet member needs. Oversee the staffing and management of all part-time staff and volunteers, including staff recruitment, hiring, onboarding, evaluating performance, and coachingManage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and providing coverage as neededLead professional development, staff meetings, and trainings for part-time staff as neededCreate a positive work atmosphere that fosters teamwork and a constructive exchange of ideasEnsure that all staff members adhere to behavior, discipline, and safety policiesWork with the Assistant Clubhouse Director to establish and enforce behavioral expectations and procedures for maintaining order Work with Assistant Clubhouse Director to organize select special events in the clubhouse and monitor staff and member participation and engagementParticipate in all Clubhouse events including staff meetings, special events, and parent meetingsBuild strong relationships with members and families and work to ensure that individual needs (academic, emotional, social, physical) are met through the appropriate connection or coordination of programs and services.
