    Job DescriptionJob Description

    The Project Director Coordinates the delivery of developmentally appropriate instruction programs as prescribed by 21st CCLC agreements. The Director is responsible to manage and lead 21st CCLC program staff including teachers, enhancement instructors and family service coordinators and provide direct services to actively participating 21st CCLC students. The Director is responsible for working with the 21st

    CCLC Site Coordinators and assist with the supervision of the program assistants in each Club. This

    position provides instructional leadership to the project and manages daily activities at the

    sites, including staff and participant attendance management. The incumbent will set the

    performance standards and actively work with 21st CCLC teachers and students to develop and

    maintain a highly effective learning environment. This position requires skill in planning and

    organizing services; in maintaining records in preparing written reports, and in maintaining

    effective working relationships with others. The Project Director will encourage parents to view

    the Club as a safe and supportive place for youth to go for services, educational and fun

    activities.


    Key Roles (Essential Responsibilities):


    Resource Development

    • Leverage existing resources, including local after-school enrichment programs, youth development

    education groups, schools, and resource centers to improve BGC programs and raise the visibility of

    the organization

    • Cultivate relationships with local youth development and after school enrichment organizations,

    educators, and philanthropists, and corporations that support the use of technology in education

    • Build strategic partnerships that bring revenue and opportunity to the program and the

    organization

    • Research and respond to requests for proposals, applications, corporate sponsorships and private

    donations to sustain and grow the program area.


    Program Development and Management:

    • Develop, plan and implement developmentally appropriate instructional programs as prescribed by

    the 21st CCLC agreements, to meet 21st CCLC outcomes for school year and summer programs

    • Supervise the on-going provision of services in specific clubs and schools

    • Be responsible to recruit, interview, select and recommend for hire all teachers,

    enrichment

    instructors, and other staff assigned to the 21st CCLC program.

    • Support teachers and provide instructional leadership in the specific academic and enrichment

    content areas

    • Develop and deliver a comprehensive staff development plan that supports teachers and

    facilitates an environment in which 21st CCLC outcomes are met

    • Master an array of tools, including excel and Focus to manage program and participant data, and

    prepare necessary reports

    • Institute a comprehensive internal control system for all purchases and services

    • Be responsible for recruitment of students from eligible schools to ensure that contracted

    participation levels are achieved

    • Collect, maintain and verify all information used for preparing financial and activity reports

    to funders

    • Create and maintain a working relationship with participating school principals, administrators,

    and the school district to recruit low-performing students from listed feeder schools. .

    • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local mandates specific to the 21st CCLC

    program.

    • Maintain an inventory of curriculum-related materials for the 21st CCLC program.

    • Develop an advocacy plan to promote the program, its successes and build funding

    support

    • Assist in the development of a sustainability plan for the Boys & Girls Club of Palm Beach

    County 21st CCLC program.

    • Supervise the delivery and quality of all contracted services

    • Work closely with Club staff to ensure that 21st CCLC and club programs are blended and

    implemented cohesively across clubs

    • Ensure that all 21st CCLC staff are trained in the rules of the BGCPBC and are able to maintain

    and enforce club policy at all times.


    Relationships:

    • Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer) Club

    members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain

    guidelines/instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.

    • External: Maintain contact and build relationships with community groups, schools external

    staff

    and volunteers, donors and others to recruit or to assist in resolving challenges.


    Skills & Knowledge Required:

    • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or relevant experience.

    • Minimum of 5 years teaching or administrative experience

    • Knowledge of K-12 public curriculum

    • Experience working with youth in an after-school setting

    • Knowledge of youth development best practices

    • Understanding of public funding records management, reporting requirements, and budget

    practices

    • Ability to supervise and motivate students in a fluid environment.

    • Ability to enforce Boys & Girls Clubs rules and policies in a fair and equitable manner

    • Strong computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook)

    • Strong organizational skills

    • Able to maintain strict confidentiality

    We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Club Director/Site Coordinator (CD) to lead and manage the after-school program at John I Leonard High School. The CD is responsible for the delivery of programs within a designated school Club, leading, managing, directing, and monitoring overall 21st CCLC program operations including safety, high quality programming, driving optimal club experience and service delivery/outcomes for Club Members.     • Develop, plan, execute and supervise a diversified youth development and academic support
    program consistent with the goals and objectives of the organization.
    • Manage 21st CCLC program and activity expenditures within approved budget.

    Club.
    • Evaluate programs, activities, staff, and volunteers to ensure the appropriateness, quality, and
    effectiveness of services. Oversee the day-to-day activities in accordance with established
    standards and goals. Collaborate with Club and school staff to evaluate program efficacy.
    • Provide leadership to staff for better understanding and needs of the individual
    member.
    • Establish and conduct special programs to meet the needs of Club members.
    • Increase visibility of the Club and the 21st CCLC program via posting of daily schedule,
    announcements of upcoming events and dissemination of timely information for the development of
    advertising and promotion through mailings, fliers, and media releases
    • Promote and stimulate participation in Club and 21st CCLC membership, including the promotion
    and coordination of inter-departmental activities and special events.
    • Responsible for recruitment of students from eligible schools to ensure that contracted
    participation levels are achieved.
    • Plan, organize and conduct programs utilizing community resources in accordance with
    all Club and grant guidelines, and organizational policies and procedures.
    • Maintain accurate records of activities, programs, schedules, and members using computer
    database/software.
    • Recommend requisition of supplies and equipment and maintain a safe environment.
    • Assist in the supervision of the care, maintenance, and cleanliness of equipment, building and
    grounds.
    • Manage and maintain facilities and equipment, and ensure productive work environment,
    maintaining an inventory of all program equipment and keeping them locked and secure during
    non-program hours.
    • Administer CPR & first aid as necessary.

    Operates bus on a prescribed route by picking up or leaving off members at designated locations; follows established signaling and safety procedures.Instructs members in the safe and proper methods of boarding and departing from the bus.Monitors operating condition of the bus on a continual basis and reports needed servicing and/or repairs.     Athletic Coordinator

    • Plan, coordinate, schedule and orient the program staff and volunteers.

    • Provide weekly written plans for the SFR programs.

    • Work with staff to enhance programs.

    • Direct members through training, guidance and responsibilities for positive growth, according to

    their individual needs.

    • Develop, plan, execute and supervise a diversified youth development program consistent with the

    goals and objectives of the organization, as approved by the Club Director or designee.

    • Provide the guidance necessary to maintain discipline and acceptable behaviors in the

    Club.

    • Assist in evaluating program, activities, staff and volunteers to ensure the appropriateness,

    quality and effectiveness of services.

    • Makes recommendations to Club Director and/or Director of Club Operations

    • Provide leadership to all Club Staff for better understanding and needs of the individual

    member.

    • Establish and conduct special programs to meet the needs of the club’s clientele.

    • Provide counseling and follow-up on individual members as necessary and identify members’

    individual needs.

    • Increase visibility of Club programs via posting of daily schedule, announcements of upcoming

    events and dissemination of timely information for the development of advertising and promotion

    through mailings, fliers and media releases.

    • Promote and stimulate participation in club membership, including the promotion and coordination

    of inter-departmental activities and special events.

    • Conduct programs utilizing community resources.

    • Maintain accurate records of activities, programs, scheduling, and members.

    • Gather statistical information.

    • Recommend requisition of supplies and equipment and maintain a safe environment.

    • Assist in the supervision of the care, maintenance and cleanliness of equipment, building,

    grounds and vehicles.

    • Administer CPR & first aid as necessary.

    • Adhere to established time schedules.

    • Recruit new members & complete proper paperwork for membership.

    • Provide programming in the Sports, Fitness & Recreation Core area.

    • Perform other duties as assigned.


    Maintenance Specialist

    • Inspect building and equipment and report any issues to ECD, RDCO and DFFM.

    • Ensure basic repair of any faulty equipment.

    • Complete preventative maintenance.

    • Responsible for basic plumbing (to include unplugging drains and toilets).

    • Responsible for painting, general repairs, pressure cleaning, etc.

    • Responsible for basic janitorial services as needed (to include wipe-down, clean-up,

    sweeping/mopping and emptying of trash).

    • Survey buildings and assist the general maintenance team with the mechanical systems to ensure

    they are consistent with health and safety standards.

    • Replace light bulbs, when possible, Reset GFI’s and Circuit Breakers as needed.

    • Inspect all alarm systems (fire, protection, access control) and notify ECD, DFFM and RDCO when

    issues arise.

    • Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, tighten hinges, etc.).

    • Ensure Clubs are free from bugs, rodents, etc.

    • Conduct general upkeep procedures (i.e. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned.

    • Ability to support other clubs when required.


    Relationships:

    • Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer) Club

    members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain

    guidelines/instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.

    • External: Maintain contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others

    to assist in resolving challenges.


    Skills & Knowledge Required:

    • Preferably a bachelor’s degree in education/recreation or a related field, or the equivalent

    combination of educational and work experience

    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in planning and supervising activities based on the developmental

    needs of children
