Duties:
Collaborates with managers, medical staff, and clinical leaders in decisions pertaining to clinic structure and processesParticipates in the development and implementation of the clinic plan for provision of patient careImplements an effective and ongoing performance improvement program to monitor, evaluate, and improve the quality and appropriateness of care delivered to patients of the clinicSupervises and monitors healthcare services provided to patients by medical assistants and ensures proper procedures are performed in accordance with established protocolsDevelops and supports staff programs that upgrade and develop staff knowledge and skills for personnel performance improvement and leadershipReviews medical intake data for completion by medical assistants to ensure appropriate screening of patients prior to visit with medical providers with an emphasis on quality and accuracySupervises the delivery of medical provider orders to patients by medical assistantsSupervises the delivery of laboratory services to patients by medical assistants, and in the absence of a laboratory technician, ensures appropriate and accurate lab services are provided Supervises and ensures adherence by staff to standards for infection control in accordance with local, state and federal OSHA regulationsProvides training and orientation to medical assistants upon new hire and annually and informs the Medical and Clinical Directors of additional training needsActs as an Electronic Health Records (EHR) Super User and trains staff members to use EHR as neededMonitors staff performance and provides instruction, guidance, and corrective action to staff members as neededPrepares annual performance evaluations for staff members for review by the Medical and Clinical Directors and conducts approved evaluationsPrepares disciplinary actions for review by the Medical and Clinical Directors and provides staff members with approved disciplinary actionsAddresses and assists in the resolution of personnel issues as neededPerforms, administers and documents tests, treatments and diagnostic procedures according to established protocolsManages immunization program and provides reports to appropriate agenciesAssists medical providers with exams and minor surgical procedures as neededAssists with back office duties and front desk coverage as neededProcesses provider referrals according to established procedure as neededAssists with the preparation of reports for quality measures and HEDIS as requestedRequirements:
Current California Vocational or Registered Nurse LicenseCurrent CPR Certification3 years of experience working in a medical office or community clinic2 years of supervisory experience Read Less
