    Description: The Heavy-Duty Truck Driver supplies solutions on transportation by prioritizing tasks and working with the shipping department on the move of HRC and Pipe from the port or other yards to BMP and vice-versa. Ensures all activities are safely performed putting HSE as a top priority. Monitors condition and appearance of Heavy-Duty Trucks and reports to Management deficiencies and Process Gaps to establish new solutions or any repairs as needed. Suggest new ideas to improve HSE and transportation efficiencies, equipment, and property assets. Performs inspections in a timely manner and creates reports to bring visibility to company KPIs. Maintains good housekeeping practices on Heavy-Duty Trucks and promotes a great Teamwork environment, following all Company po Working Conditions: Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment; fast-paced environment, hot when the weather is hot, and cold when the weather is cold. Greasy, dirty, and noisy environment. Work involves lifting, pulling and/or pushing of materials and products up to 50 pounds. Standing and walking considerable distances. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but is not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hard hats. 1. Qualifications: 1.1. At least two years of experience driving a Semi or 18-wheeler truck. 1.2. Must have CDL Class A License and good driving record. 1.3. Complete compliance with all State and Federal D.O.T regulations. Adherence to all Borusan Mannesmann Safety Procedures (including First Aid) 1.4. Must have a High School Diploma. 1.5. Well-versed in Hydraulic, Electric, and Mechanic systems. 1.6. Excellent communication and people skills. 1.7. High degree of motivation and attention to detail. 1.8. Ability to read and write clearly and accurately in order to fill in the necessary forms and logs required by our procedures. 1.9. Willingness to learn new computer software and technology. 1.10. Ability to multitask and establish priorities. 1.11. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred 2. Responsibilities: 2.1. Transport HRC and/or Pipe to different places. 2.2. Report accurate driving and resting hours to management. 2.3. Always utilize defensive driving techniques. 2.4. Maintain good communication with the supervisor at all times. 2.5. Maintain Logs and Records according to regulations as required. 2.6. Performs deliveries, pickups, loading, and unloading of trailers. 2.7. Submits to random drug and alcohol testing per DOT regulations. 2.8. Operates tractor and trailer in accordance with established safety procedures. 2.9. The ability to perform unloading functions at any location that would require disengaging of the chains, storage of the chains, and being responsible for the safe unloading of all products. 3. Activities: 3.1. Personally, represents BMP Core Values, Core Operating standards, and Brand. 3.2. Responsible for loading and unloading trailer with merchandise in good condition at specified location and specified date and time. 3.3. Responsible for completing paperwork required by law and conforming to all DOT / FMCSA requirements. 3.4. Driving is performed on concrete, uneven, and irregular configurations. 3.5. Establish the best & most direct routes on all trips and make decisions on road conditions in certain areas at certain times of the year. 3.6. Maintain logs and proper paperwork on all truck/trailer maintenance including but not limited to post-trip inspections, logbooks, and receipts. 3.7. Review and fill out all equipment's daily checklists to ensure equipment is in safe driving condition. 3.8. Communicates needed repairs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. 3.9. Review loads with the shipping and receiving department, prior to departure. 3.10. Maintain good housekeeping practices in the Heavy-Duty Truck and keeps it free and clear of debris. 3.11. Other duties as assigned by the department manager. 4. Authority and Obligation: 4.1.
