    Job Summary: 

    To support our growth we’re looking for an Executive Chef to join our awesome team with Bon Appetit at Google!

    The Executive Chef is responsible for the overall culinary experience, including quality and innovation. This role oversees daily operations and administrative tasks, such as financial management, sanitation, and safety, to ensure culinary and operational excellence.

    Collaborating with the Campus Executive Chef and key stakeholders across various departments, the Executive Chef will leverage their culinary and operational expertise to uphold food standards, enhance the user experience, and promote the Google Food program expectations.

    The great things you will do: 

     

    Manage workplace and food safety, including allergen management  

    Design, manage and own the overall experience, not just the offerings

    You have a passion for quality food preparation and taste

    Follow all menu and production/prep expectations and guides, opening/closing checklist and responsibility guides

    Prepare well balanced meals to fuel users through the day

    Set an expectation of hospitality that is friendly and engaging 

    Train and develop team members

    Ensure employee reviews, coaching sessions, and disciplinary actions are delivered in a professional and timely manner

    Ensure that all products and ingredients that are used are purchased following sector and Food Program purchasing standards and sustainability commitments

    Meet all timelines for payroll, service, accounts receivables, human resources, corporate office and all other timelines given by our partner and management

    Ensure that all hiring and training standards are met and documented for direct hires, including but not limited to new hire packet, employee/manager handbook sign off sheet, fact training completion, and safety training 

     

    What we look for in a candidate:

     

    Ability to drive and enhance a culture of Food and Workplace Safety 

    Degree from a post secondary culinary arts training program.

    A minimum of 5 years as sous chef plus 3 years in similar position in a like volume and quality food service establishment

    Strong passion for great food and hospitality

    Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

    Proficient in computer and technical skills, working knowledge of Google Suite tools, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

    Managing in a Union Environment is a plus 

    ServSafe Certification

     

    While this schedule and location are currently projected, they are flexible and may be adjusted to meet evolving business demands, including coverage needs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Degree from an accredited Culinary Institute preferred but not required

    Deep knowledge of food and workplace safety protocols and compliance.

    Minimum 2 - 4 years Chef de Cuisine / Catering leadership experience. 

    Proven experience in managing catering operations and logistics.

    Strong passion for great food and hospitality.

    Ability to manage budget, inventory and ordering.

    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

    Proficient in computer and technical skills, with a working knowledge of Google Suite tools

    Managing in a Union environment is a plus.

    ServSafe Certification is a plus.
