    Bolton & Menk has an exciting opportunity for a Survey Manager (PLS) to join our Survey team in our Raleigh office.     What You Will Be Doing:

    As a Survey Manager you will be responsible for the estimating, management, planning, scheduling and performance of multiple survey projects and personnel. We are looking for a candidate who will apply sound survey principles in planning, evaluating, and completing survey projects. In this role you will review and approve field measurements and direct and assist with preparation of survey documents. You will also conduct, and direct field surveys as required by scheduling or for professional supervisory and quality control purposes.

    In this role, projects generally consist of 50% boundary surveying for private clients and 50% survey support of internal clients associated with municipal engineering projects. Through a wide variety of public and private clients the work includes boundary surveys, ALTA Surveys, Right of Way Plats, CIC Plats, preparation of easements, topographic surveys, construction staking, and management of private survey clients.

    Our field crews are using state of the art robotic and GPS equipment.

    What We Are Looking For:

    North Carolina Professional Land Surveyor license or ability to attain within 6 months with license from another state. Minimum of 5 years of survey experience.Good management and leadership skills (i.e. operating with a sense of urgency, managing conflict, exercising tact and patience, providing constructive feedback).Working knowledge and skills in CAD and survey software. (i.e. AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation)Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable at the Firm's standard rates. A motor vehicle record (MVR) check is a standard condition of employment.Minimal travel may be needed.

    High school diploma or equivalent.Associates degree in Civil Engineering Technology (or equivalent degree) plus four years of related experience OR 10+ years of related construction experienceMnDOT Technical Certifications for Grading and Base I & II, Concrete Field I & II, and Bituminous Streets I & II are preferred.Thorough knowledge of MnDOT and/or CEAM specifications, general provisions, and standard plates, is preferred.Ability to communicate and demonstrate an understanding of engineering concepts.Possess a valid driver’s license as travel to various facilities and job sites may be required.Working understanding and experience working with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred but not required.

    Salary Range: $83,000 - $125,000 depending on years of experience and credentials

    What You Will Be Doing:

    Serve as construction project representative for construction projects having above average complexity..Maintain detailed records and documentation of construction activities.Responsible for coordinating directly with clients, contractors, and engineers on day-to-day construction items.Perform or coordinate construction material testing procedures and interprets results.Perform or coordinate measurement of construction work products for determination of project quantities, associated payment, and production of drawings.Coordinate construction site surveying scheduling and review of construction staking in the field in comparison to the project plans.May perform detailed engineering computations, detailed drafting and plan production work.Provide technical advice regarding construction modifications and repairs to clients, contractors and project engineers.Inspect project sites and evaluate contractor work for conformance with the project plans and specifications.

    What We Are Looking For:

    High school diploma or equivalent.Associates degree in Civil Engineering Technology (or equivalent degree) plus four years of related experience OR 10+ years of related construction experienceMnDOT Technical Certifications for Grading and Base I & II, Concrete Field I & II, and Bituminous Streets I & II are preferred.Thorough knowledge of MnDOT and/or CEAM specifications, general provisions, and standard plates, is preferred.Ability to communicate and demonstrate an understanding of engineering concepts.Possess a valid driver’s license as travel to various facilities and job sites may be required.Working understanding and experience working with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred but not required.

    Salary Range: $83,000 - $125,000 depending on years of experience and credentials

    As a Survey Manager you will be responsible for the estimating, management, planning, scheduling and performance of multiple survey projects and personnel. We are looking for a candidate who will apply sound survey principles in planning, evaluating, and completing survey projects. In this role you will review and approve field measurements and direct and assist with preparation of survey documents. You will also conduct, and direct field surveys as required by scheduling or for professional supervisory and quality control purposes.

    In this role, projects generally consist of 50% boundary surveying for private clients and 50% survey support of internal clients associated with municipal engineering projects.     Our field crews are using state of the art robotic and GPS equipment.

    What We Are Looking For:

    Minnesota Professional Land Surveyor license or ability to attain within 6 months with license from another state. Minimum of 5 years of survey experience.Good management and leadership skills (i.e. operating with a sense of urgency, managing conflict, exercising tact and patience, providing constructive feedback).Working knowledge and skills in CAD and survey software.
