Mechanic
The Mechanic has a vital role in the company. The Mechanic is responsible for inspecting ground support vehicles and equipment to determine whether repairs are needed. Troubleshoots issues or problems with vehicles and machinery as necessary to make repairs. The Mechanic Schedules periodic maintenance for ground support vehicles and equipment. Maintains a clean and safe repair shop. The Mechanic plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of ground support equipment for the company.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities:
Repairs and services fuel trucks, courtesy vehicles, courtesy vans, ambulances, GPU and towing equipment.Maintains heavy equipment that includes hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical machinery.Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in accordance with the manufacturer guidelines, industry standards, and safety regulations.Inspects ground support vehicles and equipment to determine whether repairs are needed.Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, including fluid changes, filter replacements, belt adjustments, and tire rotations.Maintain a clean and organized workshop, ensuring all tools, equipment, and parts are properly stored and readily accessible.Tracks inventory of parts and tools needed for repairs and maintenance.Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, parts used, and hours spent on each task.Coordinate with other mechanics and technicians to effectively prioritize and complete repair jobs in a timely manner to minimize equipment downtime.Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and external vendors to coordinate repairs, procure parts, and resolve any technical issues.Performs related duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in ground support equipment.Ability to use hand tools and power tools to repair ground support vehicles and equipment.Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills to diagnose complex issues and determine appropriate repair solutions.Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions.Ability to read repair manuals for various types of vehicles and equipment.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams for repair and maintenance purposes.Excellent mechanical repair skills.Excellent attention to details and ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately.Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.High level of professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to our customers.Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, and work in various weather conditions.Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED required. Auto or diesel technician certification preferred.Current driver license and clean driving record.Experience working in a fast-paced customer focused environment. Previous experience repairing gas and diesel engines.Previous experience providing airport terminal services preferred.Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport Security Badge through the local airport authority.
