    As a platform engineer on our team, you'll play a crucial role in translating customer requirements and future goals into innovative solutions that support a mission-critical defense IT system.     • Experience developing custom applications and supporting them in a production environment
    • 5+ years of experience building and supporting DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines
    • 3+ years of experience with containerization, building images and orchestrating deployments in Kubernetes
    • 2+ years of experience managing tools deployed with Helm using ArgoCD or Flux and writing custom Helm charts
    • 2+ years of experience with automation tools (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
    • Experience with infrastructure-as-code environments, including activities around the automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, or monitoring and testing, such as continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
    • Knowledge of container networking, monitoring, and storage solutions
    • Knowledge of container security technologies with experience evaluating and mitigating or resolving vulnerability findings Nice If You Have:
    • Experience developing in Java or Python
    • Experience with Prometheus/Grafana and/or ElasticSearch/Kibana and FluentD

    Blue Sky is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Database Administration and ETL Subject Matter Expert to support data warehousing, analytics, and enterprise reporting systems. This position is critical to sustaining end-to-end ETL processes and enterprise database infrastructure in support of high-visibility operational and analytical environments. The ideal candidate will possess deep Oracle expertise, a strong command of SQL-based data extraction and transformation, and proven experience supporting mission-critical systems. Location
    Primarily on-site in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Due to the nature of the work, relocation or long-distance commuting is not supported. Period of Performance
    4 years. Responsibilities
    • Design, install, configure, and maintain Oracle RAC databases, Fusion Middleware components, and high-availability ETL systems.
    • Automate daily ETL operations, including data ingestion, transformation, loading, and reconciliation using Oracle tools, SQL scripts, and shell scripting.
    • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, SOPs, and user/admin manuals for enterprise systems.
    • Support system performance tuning, Oracle optimizer improvements, and capacity planning.
    • Integrate new and existing data models into business intelligence tools such as BI Publisher.
    • Coordinate with system administrators to deploy, troubleshoot, and monitor applications and services.
    • Lead version upgrades and security patches across Oracle Grid Infrastructure and Middleware stacks.
    • Conduct requirements gathering and produce Functional Requirements Documents for application development.
    • Guide junior staff and collaborate with project stakeholders to align technical solutions with operational goals.

    Experience
    • 6-10 years of experience serving as a Subject Matter Expert in Database Administration and ETL operations.
    • Hands-on experience implementing end-to-end ETL pipelines, database performance optimization, and high-availability Oracle architectures.
    • Demonstrated background supporting mission-critical systems in secure, regulated environments. Knowledge
    • Deep understanding of Oracle database technologies, including Oracle RAC, ASM, Fusion Middleware components (OAM, OUD, BI Publisher), and Oracle Cloud Control.
    • Familiarity with data encryption/decryption protocols such as PKI and GPG, as well as secure file transfer methods (SFTP, VPN, SAIG).
    • Expertise in software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes, including requirements gathering, technical documentation, system testing, and change management.
    • Working knowledge of big data systems and unstructured data analysis, including feasibility studies of alternative data sources.
    • Awareness of cybersecurity requirements, including Executive Order 14028, NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5, and federal ICT supply chain security regulations. Skills
    • Proficient in SQL/PLSQL programming and database query tools such as SQL Plus, Toad, and Oracle Scripts.
    • Skilled in Oracle Data Loading tools (e.g., SQL Loader, Data Pump) and automation scripting (Windows batch, Linux shell, Perl).
    • Strong ability to design and maintain automated ETL solutions, including scheduling, prioritization, and reconciliation processes.
