BJC Outpatient Imaging is currently seeking an experienced Diagnostic Technologist for a PRN position at our brand-new outpatient imaging center in Sunset Hills, MO .
In this PRN role, you will provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services in a collaborative outpatient environment. The majority of our patient population consists of orthopedic patients, offering an exciting opportunity to work closely with a specialized patient base.
Position Status: PRN
Schedule: As needed to provide PTO coverage for full-time technologists, including a rotating schedule of 1-2 half-day Saturdays per month
Location: Sunset Hills, St. Louis, MO
As a Diagnostic Technologist I , you will perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic examinations while delivering exceptional patient care. Working under the direction of the Radiology Medical Director, you will utilize advanced digital imaging technology to produce accurate diagnostic images, ensure patient safety, and collaborate with physicians and the imaging team to provide outstanding clinical care.
Key Responsibilities: Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations following established imaging protocols. Produce high-quality images for physician interpretation. Review patient history, verify exam orders, and prepare patients for procedures. Ensure patient safety and apply ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure. Administer contrast media and perform venipuncture as appropriate. Evaluate image quality and maintain accurate patient documentation. Assist with fluoroscopic and interventional procedures as needed. Maintain equipment, quality assurance standards, and exam room readiness. Minimum 5 years experience as a Radiography TechnologistEDUCATION:
Must have a minimum Associates Degree in Radiology or be a graduate of an accredited two-year radiology program.LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography and maintain current valid registration from ARRT. Additionally, must meet the state licensure requirement for the state in which they practice. BLS certification required within 60 days of hire.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Skill in operation of radiographic equipment as well as applicable ancillary equipment. Ability to work independently and multitask. Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely. Demonstrates understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology. Must be registered through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS) or ARRT (S). For IDTF centers, OB, Abdominal, or General certification is required upon hire, and RVT certification is required within one year of hire. Non-IDTF centers require RVT certification along with OB, Abdominal or General within one year of hire, where applicable. Additionally, must meet the state licensure requirement for the state in which they practice.
SKILLS/ABILITIES :
