    BitCap is a fast-growing, 100% carbon neutral, client-facing gpu-based high performance compute (HPC) datacenter operator based in central Washington.     The job

    We are seeking a Data Center Operations Engineer to become an integral part of our team! This position will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and handling the network and compute equipment within the data center. The manager will have extensive knowledge of hardware maintenance and troubleshooting, cooling and security systems, blockchain technology, and power distribution. We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. This position will manage all of the critical operations that run 24x7x365, and will direct technical and administrative tasks relative to this infrastructure

    Responsibilities:

    Facilitate the deployment and configuration of computer equipment and infrastructure.Prioritizing requests to deploy servers, storage, and network devices to meet business deadlinesDesign, support, and maintain engineering test environmentsTroubleshooting of Servers, Storage and Network Hardware, Software, and Configuration of all components.Participate in the development and documentation of standard methodologies.Cable management within the racksUnderstand how to balance power across 3-phase PDU's (will train)Inventory management for servers, components, and cables for operational consistence.Track and trend operational characteristics within the data center environmentsTrack and communicate the progress of assignments and projects using web-based toolsPrepare & present weekly status reports of assignments/projects at weekly staff meetingsInstall/remove/relocate distributed systems, to include: servers, storage, and LAN hardware in the data centersInstall/remove/relocate patch cables for systems and storage hardwareManaging the floor, cabinet space, cooling, power, network port, and all consumable capacities (cables, rail kits, etc)Ensure compliance with data center standards, policies, and processes via the defined change control process

    Qualifications:

    No degree required but some college is preferredProficient with Windows and Linux computer operating systems is a mustA deep understanding of computer troubleshooting is a plusGeneral to an advanced working knowledge of automation, network principles, and toolsGood understanding of the electrical and mechanical systemsAbility to communicate intelligently and effectively with contractors and vendors who perform maintenance or upgrade work on these systemsAbility to learn quickly and address issues as they arise during normal working hours or when on callProven documentation and communication skillsSelf-motivated, able to work independently, and in a team environmentAbility to work on multiple projects with various groups including Systems Engineers, Storage Engineers, Networking, and Design & Architecture, etc.Ability to interpret and translate Customers Requests into action itemsThe position has a physical component requiring the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. And may require working in cramped spaces, or elevated locationsAvailability to travel 10% of the time to support other locations as neededExperience: Entry LevelPart-Time with the ability to increase to Full-time based on performance
