Birdon America, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Foreman to join our growing team at our Bayou La Batre, Alabama shipyard. This is a great opportunity for you to provide your knowledge and skills to a growing company in building a new Coast Guard vessel.
Roles and Responsibilities:Advanced knowledge of Direct Current and Alternating Currents.Capable of installing complex electronic components.Capable of reading electrical diagrams and estimating cable footage required based on drawings.Capable of directing the proper organization, banding, and packing of electrical cableways and transits.Possesses excellent organizational skills.Must be able to follow schedules and deadlines.Provide problem solving resource constraints.Ability to effectively lead and manage a team of 12 to 15 people.Must be able to complete yearly performance reviews on crew members.Must be able to work safely and promote a safety conscience culture.Employees must procure a number of specific tools; a list will be provided.Must be able to read and comprehend electrical schematics.Knowledge of Microsoft Word and basic Excel.Qualifications / Skills / Experience:

Electrical Engineer III
This position is located on-site in our Denver, CO corporate office
Roles and Responsibilities:
Meets daily with electrical engineering team to escalate roadblocks in order to have the barriers removed.Develop electrical power generation and power distribution systems for marine applications.Create and review wiring routing tables with passthrough information, termination identification, wire type, connector part numbers, label descriptions in MS Access.Produce electrical plant load analysis along with wire sizing and component protection in accordance with ABS and other classification society standards.Establish functional and acceptance test plans for system designs.Ensures that all work is performed in accordance with the specifications, drawings, and terms of the contract including ABS and other classification society standards within assigned SWBS section.Creator and reviewer of Engineering Change Notifications to formally release design data.Development of engineering deliverables in accordance with engineering processes, ensuring safe, fit for purpose engineering deliverables, and presenting material associated with the above life-cycle reviews.Coordinates with sub-contractors and vendors to receive inputs to design activities.Review and check ShipConstructor 3D models and associated 2D drawings/schematics in accordance with company, industry, and project standards.Create engineering reports to show compliance with project requirements based on design, test, analysis, and similarity.Partner with quality to troubleshoot installation issues, determine root cause, and recommend solutions.Reviews peers work for compliance with engineering standards.Qualifications / Skills / Experience:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering7 years of marine electrical engineering experienceExperience with government procurement and contracting, in particular reviewing requirements and performing specification traces.Electrical System Functional Design – Experience developing marine power distribution, lighting, motor controllers, and alarm systems.Electrical System Analysis – Expert in performing electric plant load analysis, short circuit analysis, voltage drop, and breaker coordination studies.Electrical System Detail Design – Experience managing wireway, penetration, cable termination, cable labels, and cable routing database design.Electrical System Design Requirements - Strong understanding of ABS, IEEE, IEC, NEC, CFR, and MIL-SPEC electrical system requirementsProficient in CAD - AutoCAD.Birdon offers a full benefits package including:

This position is located On-site in our Denver Colorado location.
The Control Systems Engineer – Senior is responsible for the design, development, integration, and validation of advanced electronic control systems for maritime applications. This role leads complex engineering efforts, supports cross-functional collaboration, and ensures delivery of high-quality, compliant, and innovative automation and power systems. The position requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to work autonomously on complex assignments.
Roles and Responsibilities:
