    BIM Supportive Living is seeking dedicated care staff to provide defined, non-skilled care services under the supervision of the administrator. This role supports clients who are physically disabled, mentally alert, or mentally challenged, helping them live independently in their homes.

    Care staff are compassionate, dependable leaders who support the clients everyday need. Direct Support Professionals take care of people suffering from disabilities by providing direct support services and encouraging the clients to lead an independent life and to stay integrated within their communities.

     

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, groomingProvide companionship and emotional supportAssist with administration of medications and monitor for changes in conditionOffer mobility support and assistance with personal hygieneSupport feeding and basic nutrition routinesProvide supervision and ensure client safety and well-beingObserve, document, and report changes in client behavior, health, or environmentComplete accurate daily notes and documentation as required by agency standardsPerform light housekeeping tasks (e.g., tidying, laundry, basic cleaning)Prepare simple meals and assist with feeding, when necessaryMaintain a safe and organized living environmentRun occasional errands or assist with shopping as part of care plan

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    Prior experience in caregiving, direct care, or personal attendant workStrong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate demeanorAbility to assist with lifting, mobility, hygiene, and ADLsComfortable working irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidaysBasic understanding of emergency protocols and First Aid/BLS certificationDetail-oriented and observant in reporting changes in client behavior or healthAbility to follow individualized service plans and document care accurately

    Education and Experience:

    High school diploma or GED required; additional certification or coursework in caregiving preferred.Relevant training or certifications in Direct Care Working (e.g., Home Health Aide, Certified Nursing Assistant).Must be 18 years of age or older

     

    Physical Requirements:

    Ability to handle physical aspects of job, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking for periods of timeVisual and hearing capacities functioning at a level sufficient enough to provide for managing the care of consumers to ensure both physical and behavioral needs are metVery good physical condition and enduranceThe employee may occasionally help assist in lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.

    Schedule:

    BIM participates in an Alternative Workweek Schedule (AWS), allowing eligible employees to work approved 3x12 or 4x10 schedules without daily overtime, in accordance with California Labor Code Section 511

    8-,10-,12-hr shiftDay shiftNight shiftOvernight shiftWeekend and Holiday availability


    Compensation & Benefits:

    This is a non-exempt hourly position eligible for overtime:

    Position Title: Psychiatric Technician (Psych Tech)

    Organization: BIM Supportive Living LLC

    Reports To: Health Director

    Classification: Non-Exempt



    Position Summary:

    The Psychiatric Technician provides direct care, behavioral support, and daily living assistance to individuals with mental illness, emotional disorders, and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in a supportive living environment. The Psych Tech works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to promote client safety, recovery, and quality of life in alignment with each individual's person-centered plan.



    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Provides direct care and behavioral support to clients in accordance with individualized treatment and behavior support plans


    Monitors and documents client behavior, mood, and physical condition, reporting significant changes to the supervising behaviorist or Health Director


    Assists clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and community participation


    Maintains a safe, therapeutic, and structured living environment consistent with client needs and regulatory requirements


    Implements behavioral intervention strategies as directed by the supervising behaviorist


    Accurately completes required documentation, including T-Logs, incident reports, and medication-related records


    Participates in multidisciplinary team meetings, care conferences, and training as required


    Adheres to all applicable federal, state, and organizational policies, including HIPAA and client rights regulations



    Minimum Qualifications:

    Active California Registered Psychiatric Technician (RPT) license in good standingCurrent CPR/First Aid certificationExperience working with individuals with IDD, mental illness, or co-occurring conditions preferredStrong observational, written, and verbal communication skillsSupervisory Oversight


    This position works under the clinical direction of the supervising behaviorist and the administrative oversight of the Health Director.
