Aleph Preschool, housed in Beth El Synagogue in St. Louis Park, MN, is seeking a dynamic, caring, nurturing, and experienced individual to teach in our preschool. This teacher will interact with children as young as 16 months up to 5 years old. Aleph Preschool helps children establish a strong sense of identity, develop a passion for learning, and help to cultivate their instincts to positively impact the world. This individual would play a key part in making this a reality for our students.

Under the direction of the Office Administrator and Rabbi, proactively performs a wide variety of custodial and maintenance duties to provide a clean, orderly, and safe environment at Beth El Synagogue. The custodian will resolve problems to ensure efficient and safe operations, and provide excellent customer service and work closely with employees, guests, members, and governing bodies to meet the custodial needs of the synagogue.

Schedule:
This is a full-time 40 hour position (including 30 minute lunch breaks)Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 am-5:00 pmWednesday and Friday: 12 noon-8:00 pmRole Responsibilities:
Execute against all aspects of synagogue custodial responsibilities to ensure operational excellenceEnsure all synagogue materials are properly organized, stored and maintained, including supplies and equipment, furniture, fixtures, carpet, flooring, and other building elementsMaintain a hygiene program for the synagogue, which includes cleaning, trash disposal, and pest control in offices, rest rooms, education, social, and religious spacesMonitor building systems and report problems with a focus on preventive maintenanceEstablish and follow procedures to ensure efficient operations of the synagogue facilities internal and externalMonitor and become knowledgeable of the synagogue’s building security and emergency plansMonitor and coordinate routine maintenance of the synagogue’s HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systemsMonitor interior and exterior conditions of the facilityPartner with clergy and managers to ensure safety of the facilityPerform minor repairs, including but not limited to masonry, electrical systems, plumbing, painting and immediate temporary repairs in an emergency.Manage climate control system and adjustments as appropriateAs needed, manage deliveries to/from facilityProvide custodial support and assistance at special events and set-up/break down for meetings, social events, classes, luncheons, parties, etc., as neededPhysical Demands:
The custodian must be able to lift and move heavy objects (up to 75lbs), stand for extended periods of time, and perform repetitive motions. The position may require bending, climbing ladders, stooping, and reaching.
Working Conditions:
The work schedule will require prioritizing demands, deadlines and managing emergencies. The custodian will work primarily indoors but may be required to work outdoors for events and activities, and some minor outdoor maintenance. The position will require working in areas with cleaning products.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
