Day to day as a Maintenance Electrician As a new Maintenance Electrician at Berks Packing Co., Inc., you will be expected to perform essential tasks that ensure the smooth operation of our facility. Daily responsibilities include conducting routine maintenance checks on electrical systems and equipment, diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical issues, and performing repairs promptly. You will collaborate with production teams to identify equipment needs and ensure uptime, while also documenting maintenance activities in compliance with safety and quality standards. Regularly, you'll participate in training sessions to stay updated on industry best practices and new technologies. Additionally, maintaining a clean and organized workspace and adhering to safety protocols will be key expectations. This role requires you to actively communicate with fellow team members and management to foster a cooperative work environment, ensuring that our commitment to excellence is consistently met. tools and technology Proficiency in Microsoft office and Maintenance Management Software, preferably AMMS. Familiarity with ERP. Knowledge of tools and equipment related to the meat industry and general facility maintenance. Knowledge of electrical testing instruments. Education and Experience Technical School certificate (NJACT) for Electrical. Journey Electrician's License preferred. 5-7 years of related experience, preferably in the meat industry. Or any other equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience with USDA, OSHA, and GMP. Knowledge of and experience of preventive electrical maintenance. Work context Regular contact with others inside and outside of Berks Packing Company, Inc. involving discretion. Mental Demands occur occasionally to regularly due to a diversity of problems or distractions that interfere. Physical Demands frequently require operating equipment, using hands to finger, handle or feel, standing, walking, climbing, crawling/crouching/stooping. Sitting is required occasionally. Lifting 50-100 pounds occasionally and pushing/pulling 50-100 pounds is required occasionally. Working conditions consist of a plant environment with refrigeration and elevated heat during summer months and outside working conditions.
