    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Performs a variety of warehousing duties, which requires an understanding of the Company's storage plan. Work involves most of the following: verifying materials against receiving and shipping documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages; routing material to prescribed storage locations by proper methods to protect material and employee safety; rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials; examine stored materials and reporting deterioration and damages; removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment. May operate various equipment to stage, locate or process material for shipment.


    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    · Accurately locate and identify stock for storage and retrieval using scanner when appropriate.

    · Safely operate related machinery and equipment.

    · Properly identify, scan and process paperwork necessary for material handling.

    · Correctly load and unload trucks and verify load with delivery tickets and scanner.

    · Properly tag, band, and package material for shipment.

    · Maintain a clean and safe work area.

    · Always be helpful and courteous to all customers and employees.

    · Perform other duties as related or assigned for the benefit of the Company.

    · Good attendance is an essential function of this job.


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    High School Diploma or GED.

    Previous shipping and receiving experience helpful.

    Overhead crane and forklift experience preferred.

    Must be able to read a tape measure.


    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    Ability to work as a team member without close supervision to meet Company and personal goals.

    Capable of reading a tape measure, calipers, and orders.

    Able to recognize different colors.

    Good reading, writing and math skills as measured by a pre-employment test.

    Ability to meet physical demands of position which are required 95% of the work day (i.e. lifting up to 50 lbs independently, pushing, pulling, standing, climbing).
