About the Role
We're seeking a Service & Application Engineer to provide technical expertise, integration support, and hands-on service for advanced automation systems. This role combines problem-solving, field support, and system implementation, working closely with customers to ensure the successful setup and operation of company products, including WT, MT, MTS, EHRT, and Perforex systems.
This is a fully remote position within the United States, with significant travel across North America and occasional international travel for training and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Provide daily remote and on-site technical support for automation systems and related equipment.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair system faults to ensure maximum uptime.
Assist customers with product integration, configuration, and optimization.
Perform on-site installations and provide training to end users.
Support trade shows, product demos, and customer events.
Communicate regularly with engineering and product teams regarding quality and performance improvements.
Offer feedback and ideas to drive continuous product and process improvement.
Participate in an on-call rotation to support customer needs.
Travel up to 80% throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and occasionally to Germany.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent technical training.
5+ years of experience in Controls Engineering, CNC machines, or related automation systems.
Strong understanding of PLCs, HMIs, and control technology.
Proficiency with automation software such as Siemens TIA Portal or Rockwell Studio 5000.
Familiarity with pneumatics, vacuum systems, and AC/DC power up to 460 volts.
Experience with CAD/AutoCAD for reading and importing technical drawings.
Basic knowledge of machining processes such as drilling, tapping, and milling.
Strong communication, customer service, and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently or as part of a cross-functional team.
Conversational or technical German language skills are a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and general computer literacy.
Must be able to work overtime as required.
