Building Electronic Controls (BEC) is seeking a dedicated, proactive and customer oriented Project Manager to join our operations department at our Glendora office. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Low-Voltage Systems Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial fire alarm systems, with Edwards systems experience being a plus. This role requires a deep understanding of project management within the construction industry. Candidates with backgrounds in manufacturing, software, or other non-construction industries need not apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee low-voltage systems projects, focusing primarily on commercial fire alarm systems.Coordinate with multiple departments to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all phases.Handle billing and budgeting for projects, maintaining financial oversight.Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.Interface with AHJ/plancheck approval process through final inspections.Ensure projects are executed efficiently, adhering to high-quality standards.Be available to work flexible hours as required by project demands.Be willing to learn and manage additional systems outside of fire alarms, such as area of refuge, ERRCS, and firefighter surveillance.Utilize MS Teams and MS Office for project management and communication.Qualifications

About the Role
Building Electronic Controls (BEC) is looking for a highly organized, proactive Operations Administrative Assistant to support our Construction Operations team.

You'll provide administrative support to multiple departments while helping maintain accurate project documentation from design through project closeout.
What You’ll Do:

BEC is seeking a proactive and field-oriented Safety Superintendent to support and oversee safety and compliance programs across our California operations. This role is responsible for implementing and monitoring company safety programs, conducting field safety inspections, supporting project teams, and promoting a culture of safety throughout all levels of the organization.
The Safety Superintendent will work closely with HR, executive leadership, project managers, and union personnel to ensure compliance with Cal/OSHA regulations, customer safety requirements, and industry best practices.
This position provides safety oversight for approximately 100 employees, including 70 union field installers performing commercial construction, low-voltage, and fire alarm system work throughout California.
Essential Responsibilities
Field Safety Leadership
Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections and audits throughout California.Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and work with field supervision to implement corrective actions.Prepare and distribute jobsite inspection reports, communicate identified hazards and corrective actions to appropriate stakeholders, and track corrective actions through completion.Prepare and/or assist project teams with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), Pre-Task Plans (PTPs), and Corrective Action Plans (CAPs).Monitor compliance with company safety policies, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.Participate in pre-task planning and safety meetings.Support field personnel with hazard recognition and risk mitigation strategies.Coordinate with customer representatives, general contractors, and subcontractors regarding project safety requirements and corrective actions.Travel regularly to project sites throughout California.
Safety Program Administration
Support the administration and maintenance of the company's Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).Support administration of written safety programs.Monitor field implementation of company safety programs and regulatory requirements.Incident Management
Investigate accidents, near misses, injuries, and property damage incidents.Assist with root-cause analysis and corrective action implementation.Prepare, submit, and maintain incident reports and related documentation for company management and regulatory agencies, when applicable.Support OSHA recordkeeping and injury reporting requirements.Monitor trends and recommend preventive measures.
Training & Compliance

Maintain accurate and complete safety records, inspection reports, investigation files, training records, and compliance documentation.Track, analyze, and report safety performance metrics.Work closely with HR on workers' compensation case management and return-to-work programs.Complete contractor safety pre-qualification submissions and safety-related documentation requests.Review contract safety requirements and customer-specific safety obligations.Assist with insurance audits and related loss-control initiatives.Minimum Qualifications
Required
Current BCSP Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC®) certification.Minimum 3 years of construction safety experience.Experience working on commercial construction projects.Working knowledge of Cal/OSHA regulations and construction safety practices.Experience conducting job site safety inspections and incident investigations.Ability to effectively communicate and enforce safety requirements with employees, supervisors, customers, and management.Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).Valid California Driver's License with acceptable driving record.Ability to travel to jobsites throughout California.

Responsibilities
· Service, troubleshoot, inspect, and repair commercial fire alarm systems.
· Program, modify, and maintain fire alarm systems.
· Diagnose and resolve complex system issues with minimal supervision.
· Perform system testing and inspections in accordance with NFPA 72, applicable local fire codes, and AHJ requirements.
· Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, wiring diagrams, and sequences of operation.

Required Qualifications
· Current and verifiable Edwards EST3 certification.
· Minimum 5 years of commercial fire alarm installation, programming, troubleshooting, inspection, and service experience.
· Must be eligible for and willing to become a member of the IBEW.
· Strong working knowledge of NFPA 72 and applicable local fire and life safety codes.
· Ability to read and interpret plans, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation.
· Knowledge of low-voltage wiring practices and electrical theory.
· Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and customer service skills.
· Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
