Ophthalmic Technician – Eye Care Practice
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our busy, patient-centered eye care practice. This role is essential in supporting providers, maintaining efficient patient flow, and ensuring high-quality clinical care.
Key Responsibilities
Perform patient workups: visual acuity, intraocular pressure, refractions (if trained), pupil testing, EOMsObtain and document medical histories and chief complaintsAssist with diagnostic testing (OCT, visual fields, fundus photography, topography)Prepare patients for examination and assist the provider during visits and minor proceduresEducate patients on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and follow-up careAdminister eye drops as directedMaintain accurate, thorough documentation in the EMREnsure exam rooms and equipment are clean, stocked, and functioning properlyQualifications
Prior experience as an ophthalmic or optometric technician requiredStrong clinical skills and attention to detailAbility to multitask and maintain efficiency in a fast-paced settingExcellent communication and patient interaction skillsComfortable with EMR systems and diagnostic equipmentWhat We Offer
