The Banner Baywood Neuro Progressive Care Unit is nationally certified as a Primary Stroke Unit by the Joint Commission. Our team is highly skilled in caring for patients suffering from strokes and related illnesses. Our RN managers are trained stroke responders who respond to stroke alerts throughout the campus. Our program is led by a physician medical director and a nurse coordinator along with a multidisciplinary team who are all instrumental in providing exceptional care to our patients and a collaborative environment for our RNs. The Neuro Progressive Care Unit is a three-wing, 74-bed unit that provides acute care for all stroke and neuro patients as well as cardiac, medical, and post-surgical patients. This Neuro Stroke specialty unit is a great fit for RNs who love to learn and would like to expand their RN skills across many areas. POSITION SUMMARY This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients. CORE FUNCTIONS Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs.
