Position Summary:
Responsible for all aspects of payroll processing. This includes collecting, verifying, and maintaining accurate employee data, computing wages, and ensuring employees receive correct payment. The payroll specialist must be able to process payroll and answer employee questions about payroll and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Processing of payroll in the most efficient, ethical, and accurate manner using timekeeping system UKG and ADP Workforce Now. Always looking for ways to improve process and service delivery. Collect and verify employee data and pay period data. Ensure confidentiality with all employee data.Provide support for benefits administration processes. Research and problem resolution of timekeeping transactions.Update payroll information for promotions, time keeping changes, transfers, terminations, and new hire.Maintain employee records, tax information, and payroll transactions.Answer questions and resolve issues regarding payroll, policies, procedures, and systems.Ensure compliance with company policies, applicable laws, and regulations.Work with Payroll Supervisor on special projects as needed.Generate and write reports/queries, maintain data integrity, and assist in development of standardized reporting using appropriate tools.Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.At least 3 years of experience in payroll processing or related field.Experience utilizing HR systems: ADP Workforce now and UKG preferred. Strong understanding of payroll principles and procedures.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; specifically Intermediate or higher Excel.Excellent communication and people skills.Detail Oriented, exceptional follow-through, and ability to follow procedures. Willing to work overtime when needed, including occasional nights and weekends.Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field.Bilingual in Spanish.Experience with payroll system upgrades, implementations, or integrations.Desire to grow within the role and contribute to an evolving payroll department.Experience supporting continuous improvement or automation initiatives.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
This position requires frequent use of a computer, sitting for extended periods, and occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds. May require occasional schedule flexibility during payroll processing cycles.
