    Greenhouse Inventory Coordinator
    Full Time Position
    Monday- Friday 7:30am-4:30pm, more hours required during peak periods.
     

    We’re looking for a detail-oriented Greenhouse Inventory Coordinator to support greenhouse production operations by managing work orders, maintaining accurate inventory data, and coordinating materials through systems like NetSuite. In this role, you’ll help track work-in-progress, create and update inventory items and bills of materials, and assist with purchasing and receiving production supplies. You’ll also collaborate with the greenhouse manager on crop planning, monitor inventory availability, and support cycle counts and year-end inventory processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency across operations.

    Who we are: Bachman’s was founded in 1885 and remains a family-owned business, with fifth-generation Bachman family members leading the company today. Bachman’s operates six full-service Floral, Gift & Garden Centers throughout the Twin Cities, a Hardscapes Center in Farmington, and 28 floral departments within Lunds & Byerlys grocery stores. Additionally, Bachman’s operates indoor and outdoor landscaping divisions, a weddings and special events department, a wholesale nursery division, seven acres of greenhouses, and a 670-acre growing range in Lakeville, Minn., which produces many of the plants, flowers, and landscaping products sold by Bachman’s today.

    Job Duties:

    Maintain an accurate inventory of container and greenhouse products for the wholesale and perishable departments.Assist the production planning coordinator.Assist in monitoring work-in-progress (WIP) inventory and coordinate completion of work orders in NetSuite to move them to their linked finished item.Create and edit new inventory or assembly items within NetSuite. Write/update purchase orders for externally sourced production materials. Create BOM’s and update BOM’s as necessary throughout the season.Assist greenhouse manager in planning greenhouse crops and ordering necessary supplies to execute the production plan.
    Qualifications:Two year degree or equal experience required.Working knowledge of Excel, MS Word, Eagle, and Starcom preferred.RFSmart and NetSuite software experience preferredMust have good interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work as a team player.Excellent knowledge of landscape plant materials preferred.Ability to recognize and identify plant pest and disease problems preferred.Two years office/clerical experience preferred.

    Compensation: $21-$23/hour

    We’re looking for a skilled and dependable Mechanic to join our team and play a key role in keeping our operations running smoothly. In this position, you’ll be responsible for directing and performing all aspects of vehicle and equipment maintenance, from routine servicing and adjustments to rebuilding components, replacing parts, welding, and painting. You’ll conduct regular safety inspections on equipment, provide work directions to vehicle maintenance employees, and fabricate or customize specialized equipment to support production needs.     Job Duties:

    Direct and / or perform all vehicle maintenance necessary including: routine maintenance; to include adjustments, rebuilding where needed, replacing parts, welding, painting, etc.Perform routine safety inspections on equipment used in nursery production. Observe all laws and safety procedures associated with mechanization used in nursery production. Provide daily work directions to Lakeville Union Vehicle maintenance employeesFabricate or customize specialized equipment needed for nursery production. Work cooperatively with other Lakeville departments and maintain their equipment in good working condition. This would include Nursery Wholesale, Hardscapes and the Greenhouse.Maintain accurate records and complete necessary paperwork in a neat and timely manner.Always maintain facilities in a neat and orderly condition.Maintain communication with Manager when needed.Qualifications:Must be able to operate a variety of nursery production equipment such as farm tractors, skid loaders, forklifts, front-end loader, tree spades, semi-tractor/trailer, or others as required.High school diploma plus two-year certificate from an Agriculture specific Institution and two years nursery/landscape production experience including one year in a leadership role. Must have Class D license. Valid CDL driver’s license preferred. Must have a minimum of two years’ experience in basic equipment maintenance including welding, engine, electrical, transmission, hydraulics and other related work.Must be at least 18 years old and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and 100 lbs. occasionally.Schedule:Primarily Monday – Friday position with overtime and weekends as necessary.     We’re looking for a detail-oriented Inventory Coordinator to support inventory accuracy and process excellence across wholesale, production, and Cedar Acres. In this role, you’ll partner cross-functionally to ensure best practices within RF Smart and NetSuite are consistently followed, while providing hands-on support for key inventory functions such as transfers, order picking, and purchase order processing. You’ll play a critical role in identifying and resolving inventory discrepancies through root cause analysis, monitoring reporting for trends and inconsistencies, and ensuring spoilage is accurately recorded. This position also contributes to cycle counts, year-end inventory coordination, and continuous process improvement initiatives, including training support for inventory systems and procedures.
     


    Job Duties:

    Reduce Wholesale, Production and Cedar Acres inventory shrinkage by determining root cause of inventory shortages related to operational practices such as shipping, receiving, purchase order management, inter-store transfers, point-of-sale transactions, data management, and reporting.Work with all levels in Wholesale, Production and Cedar Acres to build consensus for process change.  Present recommendations for process change to senior management. Support Loss Prevention coordinating and executing physical inventory counts and reconciliation for Wholesale, Production and Cedar Acres. Execute cycle count calendar for Wholesale, Production and Cedar Acres.  Work with stakeholders to organize and implement.  Reconciliation of cycle count discrepancies.  Ensure cycle count program aligns with business goals.  Develop and implement SOPs for all aspects of inventory management across Wholesale, Production and Cedar Acres using problem solving and process improvement methods Training of employees at Wholesale, Production and Cedar Acres on inventory control procedures and effective use of RF Smart & NetSuite technology for shipping, receiving, cycle counting, spoils and physical inventory. Training for employees on the impact of purchase order process on physical inventory.Coordinate with Wholesale, Production and Cedar Acres to ensure SOPs are being followedEnforce policy and procedure related to Loss Prevention and Safety Initiatives Wholesale, Production and Cedar Acres.Qualifications:Minimum 3 years’ experience in wholesale or production experience preferredEffective written and verbal communication skillsProficient in MS Word & Excel Desirable experience would include RFSmart and Netsuite softwareGreen Industry (Hort, Greenhouse, Nursery, Garden Center) experience preferred
