    Description

    Our Chanute KS manufacturing facility is seeking a production foreman to manage our 2nd Shift operations. This candidate is our first line of shop leadership and is responsible for directing the team to execute the scheduled work in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. The foreman will provide department expertise, training, and leadership to his assigned team. The role requires commitment, communication, and cooperation as our business necessitates that we regularly adapt to changing priorities and constraints. This role reports to the Plant Manager.

    Preferred Experience:

    Heavy manufacturing in waste heat products Package boiler fabrication experience Familiar with FCAW, GMAW, GTAW welding processes Lifting and Rigging of large weldments Frontline supervision

    Assembles mechanical units or fabricated parts of various size and complexity using hand tools, jigs, and fixtures, as well as light power tools and equipment. Follows oral instructions, drawings, bills of material, and written procedures.

    Fits, aligns, adjusts, and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and operating requirements. Tests assembled parts. Repairs units or parts that have failed to meet specified functional performance. Disassembles and inspects subassemblies. Load and unload material from trucks to storage area and move within workspace using forklift, handcart, or other device. May exercise own technical judgment. Operates drill press, lathe, and milling machines. Inspects components using micrometers and records on inspection form. Disassembles equipment using pneumatic impact tools, torches, and hydraulic tools. Secure rigging and operate overhead cranes. Assemble components by heating, bolting, and welding .


    Qualifications

    Two years of experience as a mechanic. (Auto mechanic acceptable.) One year of experience using common inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.). Good written and oral communication. Ability to use oxy/acetylene torches. Some experience with welding. Able to work with little to no supervision. Must work well with other but also be comfortable working independently.
