    Job Title: OHS Coordinator

    Reports to: OHS Manager, OHS Ops Manager or VP of OHS

    Job Overview:

    We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented site-level OHS Manager to join our team in the site development industry. This position is ideal for someone passionate about promoting a safe work environment, eager to learn, and ready to grow within the health and safety field. The OHS Manager will help in implementing, monitoring, and maintaining safety protocols across various construction sites to ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist with Safety Inspections: Conduct weekly site safety audits and inspections to find hazards, unsafe practices, or violations of safety regulations.

    • Visibility: Be present and accounted for on a daily basis for both morning and mid-day crew huddles.

    • Monitor Compliance: Help ensure that all employees and subcontractors are following health and safety guidelines and company safety policies.

    • Incident Reporting and Investigation: Assist in reporting, investigating, and documenting incidents, near-misses, and workplace accidents. Help prepare reports and suggest corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

    • Provide Safety Training Support: Assist in organizing and delivering safety training sessions for employees, including topics such as hazard recognition, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and emergency response procedures.

    • Maintain Safety Documentation: Help keep up-to-date records of safety meetings, training logs, incident reports, and safety audits.

    • Administrative Duties: Complete all required administrative obligations including but not limited to contractor and/or owner assigned audits, internal inspections, daily huddle reports, and all other administrative responsibilities applicable to jobsite requirements.

    • Promote a Safety Culture: Actively take part in safety meetings, near-miss program, and toolbox talks to promote a strong culture of safety awareness among workers and management. Support all other company initiatives. 

    • PPE Monitoring: Ensure proper use, availability, and condition of personal protective equipment on-site. Aid in distributing PPE when necessary.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety Preferred.

    • 2 to 5 years of Experience

    • Self-Motivated 

    • OSHA 510 Preferred

    • OSHA 30 Construction Required

    • Site Development Construction Experience Preferred

    • Strong interest in health and safety practices within the construction industry.

    • Basic knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety regulations.

    • Effective communication and people skills.

    • Bilingual (Spanish) Preferred but not required.

    • Ability to see and identify potential hazards.

    • Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced construction environment.

    • The ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is a plus.

    Job Summary:

    At B&S, Project Managers own their projects. You are accountable for schedule, budget, subcontractor performance, client relationships, and the financial outcome of every job in your portfolio. We give our PMs the authority, resources, and support to back that up -- and we expect them to deliver.

    You will plan and execute large-scale site development projects from pre-construction through closeout, direct high-performing field teams, hold subcontractors to schedule and quality standards, and protect margin through disciplined change order management. You will be the primary point of contact for owners and GCs on some of the most complex civil scopes in the region.

    Job Duties:

    Lead projects from pre-construction through closeout, managing schedule, budget, and scope across complex site development scopes Collaborate with engineers, owners, and GCs to define project specifications, align expectations, and resolve issues before they become problems Supervise subcontractors and self-perform crews and hold them accountable to schedule, quality, and safety standards Manage procurement of equipment, materials, and subcontracts; negotiate agreements that protect B&S's margin and position Drive change order identification, documentation, and execution -- protecting revenue and managing owner relationships through the process Obtain permits and licenses and ensure full compliance with applicable regulations and health and safety standards Maintain accurate, timely project reporting and provide leadership with clear visibility into project health and risk

    What You Bring:

    Proven experience managing large-scale site development or civil construction projects Deep knowledge of grading, utilities, and civil construction procedures, sequencing, and cost drivers Strong commercial instincts, you understand the numbers, protect margin, and manage change proactively Experience holding subcontractors and field teams accountable to schedule and performance Proficiency with project management tools including Bluebeam and construction management software; familiarity with CAD/BIM a plus Excellent communication and negotiation skills with owners, GCs, and subcontractors Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building Science, or related field preferred
