    Join a state-of-the art, upscale medical and cosmetic dermatology practice in the heart of east Fort Lauderdale, looking to hire a Medical Assistant to become part of our team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a dermatology practice and demonstrate excellent patient interactions.We are looking for someone professional, reliable, compassionate and friendly to work alongside our board-certified dermatologist and provide our patients with the best care in South Florida.If you are looking to work hard and thrive in a fast paced, cutting-edge dermatology office, than Ayana Dermatology is the practice for you.Responsibilities include but not limited to:Preparing patients to be seen and working directly with physician to assist as needed with all medical and cosmetic procedures during the examinationTranscription of EMR notes during patient examCollecting, recording and preparing laboratory specimens to be sent outBasic wound care, suture removal and dressing changesSurgical assistance during dermatologic surgeries and proceduresOrganizing/stocking exam rooms and ordering supplies as neededAuthorizing prescription refills as directed and completing prior authorizations if requiredSterilization of medical and surgical instrumentsTurnover and set-up of examination rooms in accordance with proper sterilization techniques established by the practiceProviding patients with post procedure care and treatment plan instructionsPhotographing and recording patient images into EMRProperly greeting each patient with a professional and pleasant attitudeEffectively communicate with patients when they make inquiries, whether by phone or in person at the office.Working in a team effort to promote cosmetic procedures and products soldRequirements & Qualifications:Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or Nursing programHigh school degree or GEDPrevious experience in a dermatology practice recommendedPleasant personality, respect, and patience are requiredDedicated, enthusiastic and organized work ethicAbility to maintain proper, courteous, and professional telephone and in person etiquetteOrganized, self-motivated, and attentive to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work under pressure and accurately prioritize problems & initiativesProficient with using iPads and in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Google, etc.)Ability to take patient vital signsPhlebotomy not required, but recommendedExperience with Modernizing Medicine (EMA) software recommendedAttendance and punctuality required BLS Certification (Preferred)Certified Medical Assistant (Required) Read Less
