Job Description
TITLE
Registered Nurse - Step-Down Unit
SCHEDULE
- Shift: Nights
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend (2 shifts)
ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
- Guaranteed hours: 36 hours (3 x 12s)
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 2 years RN experience required
- Must have been at bedside within the last 6 months
- Trauma Level II experience required
- Travel experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH
- Should have hard-stop skills including vent management, titration of vasoactive and sedation drips, management of arterial lines, chest tube care, and IV insulin drip management
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide high-acuity nursing care to adult patients in a step-down unit
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, including vital signs and symptoms
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and families regarding health conditions and care plans
COMPLIANCE / NOTES
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
- Fit testing: Facial hair must allow for proper fit testing
- Parking: Free
