The Role We are seeking a seasoned, strategic, and execution-oriented VP of Customer Success to lead and scale our Customer Success organization for Axon 911. This leader will be responsible for driving retention, expansion, and customer advocacy across a complex, highly relational public safety customer base. Reporting to the Chief Customer Officer, this role will lead a team of senior leaders (Sr. Managers/Directors) who oversee Customer Success Managers (CSMs). You will play a critical role in shaping post-sale strategy, building durable executive relationships with agency leaders, and ensuring customers realize meaningful outcomes from Axon 911. This is a highly visible role that blends operational rigor, revenue accountability, and mission-driven customer partnership. This is a hybrid role in our Manhattan office. Why This Role Matters This is not a traditional SaaS Customer Success role. Our customers rely on Axon 911 in life-critical situations. The VP of Customer Success will directly impact how emergency response systems operate-helping agencies save time, improve outcomes, and ultimately protect lives. You'll be joining a mission-driven organization where customer success is deeply tied to real-world impact. Your Impact As a Senior Sales Engineer, Public Safety (Mountain or Pacific Region), you are both a technical expert and a storyteller. You'll work closely with Account Executives (AEs), Regional Sales Managers (RSMs), and customers to translate complex technical requirements into compelling solutions. You will lead discovery, configure and demonstrate our platform, manage technical validations, and ensure a smooth handoff to post-sales implementation. Technical Leadership * Serve as the subject-matter expert for Prepared's platform architecture, integrations, APIs, and data workflows. * Provide configuration and system design guidance based on customer requirements, existing CAD/NG911 systems, and IT infrastructure. * Advise agencies on best practices for network security, system interoperability, and deployment planning. * Stay up-to-date with public safety software trends, standards (NG911, CAD, RMS, PSAP operations), and competitor offerings. Sales Enablement & Collaboration * Work alongside Sales, Product, and Engineering to continuously improve our demo environments, messaging, and field readiness. * Collect and relay customer feedback to influence product roadmap and technical documentation. * Support proposal teams with technical content, diagrams, and specifications. * Assist marketing and partner teams in developing technical collateral, webinars, and events. Customer Advocacy * Build trust with agency decision-makers, IT administrators, and operations leaders by demonstrating deep understanding of public safety workflows. * Ensure technical confidence throughout the sales cycle to accelerate buying decisions. * Represent Prepared at tradeshows, conferences, and industry events as a technical ambassador. What You Bring * 8+ years of progressive experience in public safety, emergency communications, or PSAP operations, with senior-level leadership experience strongly preferred (Director, Assistant Director, Executive Director, or equivalent). * Demonstrated experience selling, implementing, or enabling public safety software (e.g., NG911 call handling, CAD, RMS, ESInet, radio systems, mass notification, or emergency communications platforms). * Proven ability to operate as a field-facing technical advisor to Sales-owning discovery, solution design, demonstrations, technical validation, and RFP/RFI responses end-to-end. * Deep understanding of PSAP workflows, operational constraints, funding models, procurement cycles, and compliance environments, including experience presenting to boards, executives, and elected officials. * Strong technical fluency across cloud-based platforms, integrations/APIs, network infrastructure, data workflows, and system interoperability within public safety environments. Your Impact As a Senior Enterprise Account Executive, Outpost, you will own and close complex, high-value Outpost opportunities across enterprise and commercial verticals (e.g., retail, healthcare, private security, casinos, critical infrastructure, logistics, rail, and other large-scale environments). You will be a quota-carrying seller and a leader within Axon's Enterprise "startup" motion-helping define go-to-market strategy, build repeatable sales motions, and expand Axon's ALPR footprint beyond traditional public safety. You will serve as both the primary deal owner for enterprise Outpost opportunities, and a trusted product and solution expert, capable of articulating how Outpost hardware, software, and workflows drive ROI, operational outcomes, and mission impact at scale. What You'll Do  Location: Remote from the US, within one hour of a major airport and on the road 50% * Own and close complex, high-value enterprise Outpost (ALPR) deals as a quota-carrying Senior Account Executive. * Lead end-to-end sales cycles with Fortune 500 and large enterprise customers, engaging executive stakeholders to drive meaningful customer-focused solutions * Be the Axon Outpost product expert, delivering compelling demonstrations and clearly articulating ROI, operational impact, and customer value * Build accurate solution scopes, pricing, and proposals across hardware, software, services, and deployments. * Develop and execute strategic account and territorial plans aligned to Axon's Enterprise GTM strategy. * Drive partner-led motions with VARs, systems integrators, and commercial partners. * Navigate technical, commercial, and organizational complexity to de-risk deals and accelerate close. * Partner with cross-functional teams to continuously refine best practices and evolve the Outpost journey across enterprise customers * Partner with Enterprise leadership to help shape repeatable Outpost enterprise sales motions and GTM design. What You Bring * 7+ years of enterprise or channel sales experience in technology (SaaS, software, cloud, or hardware-enabled solutions). * Proven track record of closing large, complex enterprise deals and consistently achieving quota. * Strong executive-level communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. * Experience selling through or alongside large VARs and systems integrators. * Ability to translate complex technical solutions into clear business and ROI-driven value. * Comfort operating in fast-moving, ambiguous, startup-like environments. * Strong deal strategy, forecasting, and CRM discipline (Salesforce or equivalent). * Willingness to travel ~50%.
