    Job DescriptionJob Description

    AXIOM

Axiom is a dynamic company that specializes in the design and fabrication of custom elements. We create retail displays and environments that immerse people in our client's brands. We customize the atmospheres of beloved restaurants to rival the food. We modernize hotels or restore them to their original beauty. Whatever our client’s idea or project, we collaborate to make it magic. We’re a friendly team of thinkers and builders with a professional passion for making interesting things. We design. We engineer. We build. We install. We’re full-service and full of heart.

    THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a Buider/Bench Carpenter.

To get a feel for Axiom Custom Products' capabilities check us out at www.axiomcustom.com.

The schedule is Monday - Friday, typically 7:00pm - 3:30pm, with the option to pick up work when available on the weekend. However, there is the necessity of a flexible schedule working OT as needed which is a 10-hour day, (typically 7:00am - 5:30pm), a goal-oriented length day to hit project deadlines or the infrequent mandatory Saturday or weekend.

    YOU

We are looking for someone good with tools and who has built things -- a lot of things! You’ll thrive if you have years of shop experience with a focus on cabinet making and bench carpentry. Someone who is ambitious, hard working, quality conscience, and focused tends to be best suited for the work we do. We're looking for someone reliable that takes pride in their work. Someone who is looking to take on new challenges and work with a variety of products, wood, solid surface, plastic, laminates, and metal to name the regular. If this sounds like you, this may be your favorite job!

It is a collaborative environment and we ebb and flow between working well with others and working solo. The nature of our projects leaves room for unanswered questions and problem-solving. So, there are a few other things we hope you can do; communicate well, don't be reluctant to become involved or ask questions and possess a willingness to learn regardless of your advanced level of experience.

As needed, this role supports installs. Sometimes installs are local, sometimes folks travel anywhere in the country. We are regularly in Seattle, LA, Denver, and NYC. Length of install varies, but we try to make travel reasonable. We'll discuss more in-depth at the interview.

    THE REWARD

We invest in our people, mentor them, empower them to achieve, and offer growth opportunities. Many of our key positions are the result of promoting from within. We offer a fantastic career opportunity with excellent pay, 401k and Roth investment options, and robust medical, dental, vision benefits (with additional cost dependent coverage options). Best yet, in year two and beyond, you accrue 20 days of PTO! Combined with 6 paid holidays, our benefits are some of the best in our industry. For install, folks also receive a per diem for out-of-town travel and we cover all lodging, airfare and transportation.

    THE CULTURE

It's not stuffy and corporate, it's privately owned by one owner who is involved day-to-day, and has been since 1996; no board of directors, low-key and casual, but professional. We're a full-function team where everyone helps everyone.

    OUR REPUTATION

We have built our reputation on creating awesome experiences for our clients and our team. Friendly, proud hard workers, and oddball thinkers, we project our values every day and work hard to deliver the goods. Acting as one, we’re in it together. We don’t accept “that’s how it’s always been done;” we constantly innovate and use our ingenuity to push limits. It’s what sets Axiom apart.

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAt Axiom Custom Products, we don’t just build, we bring ideas to life. As a leader in fabrication serving the creative, events, retail, and construction industries, Axiom blends advanced digital manufacturing with decades of hands-on expertise to deliver results that stand apart. From early concept to final installation, our in-house capabilities allow us to execute ambitious visions with precision, creativity, and craftsmanship.

We are looking for an Install Department Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and is ready to take ownership of both people and process. In this role, you will be at the center of project execution, leading a team of skilled installers while ensuring every installation meets the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and professionalism. You will serve as the primary point of contact for the installation team, guiding them through complex projects while fostering growth, accountability, and a strong team culture.

Success in this position comes from striking the right balance between leadership and execution. You will mentor and develop your team while also stepping into the field to actively participate in installations and strikes, especially on high-profile projects where attention to detail and client experience are critical. Your ability to advocate for your team while remaining aligned with company goals will directly influence the performance and reputation of the department.

Day to day, you will collaborate closely with engineering, shop management, and operations to ensure projects are set up for success long before they reach the job site. You will interpret drawings and specifications, conduct site visits, plan logistics, build schedules, and allocate resources to keep projects on track and within budget. When challenges arise, you will lead from the front, solving problems quickly, communicating clearly, and keeping both your team and stakeholders aligned.

This role also calls for a builder of systems and standards. You will establish best practices for installation, improve workflows, and help shape processes that increase efficiency and consistency across projects. From managing tool inventory and coordinating travel logistics to ensuring compliance with safety standards and labor regulations, you will bring structure and discipline to a dynamic and ever-changing environment.

We’re looking for someone with at least five years of experience managing teams and a deep, hands-on understanding of wood fabrication and installation methods, materials (wood, solid surface, plastic, laminates, and metal typically), and tools. You should be comfortable reading architectural drawings, building schedules, and leading teams through complex installs with confidence. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure. Experience in design-led industries, familiarity with CAD or ERP systems, and knowledge of labor laws are all valuable additions.

This is not a desk-only role. It’s a hybrid of office planning and field execution, requiring flexibility, travel, and a willingness to work nights, weekends, or holidays when projects demand it. In return, you’ll have the opportunity to work on unique, high-impact builds, lead a talented team, and play a key role in shaping how Axiom delivers exceptional work to its clients.

If you’re someone who takes pride in building things the right way, leading from the front, and delivering results that exceed expectations, Axiom offers a place where your expertise and leadership can truly make an impact.

The salary range for this role is $90k to $110k.

They work closely with internal teams to understand design criteria, project requirements, and objectives. They generate accurate and detailed SolidWorks models and drawings that adhere to project requirements and Axiom standards. Creation of accurate bills of materials and parts lists that can be imported directly into production work orders and used for purchasing is a critical step. Understanding of Axiom’s machines, tooling, equipment, resources, and processes, and allows the DE to incorporate those capabilities into designs. They then validate designs to ensure profitability, feasibility, and alignment with client requirements.

Designs must be able to manufactured without undue challenges, taking into account manufacturing processes, material availability, and practicality of construction. Job DescriptionJob Description

    AXIOM

Axiom Custom Products is a 27 year old privately-owned, full-service creative manufacturing team that designs and builds architectural environments, retail activations and experiences, art installations, and more.

With a 75,000 sf shop in NE, Axiom creates projects of which you will want to be a part! We make the impossible possible through our vast, unmatched capabilities: exceptional client services, fearlessly creative design, innovative problem-solving, unparalleled in-house services (building, CNC, metal fabrication, technology, paint and powder coating, custom crating), detailed installation, and tight deadlines. With our client’s expressive custom statements brought to life, the rest is history.

    THE PRE-REQ

You have years of fabrication experience; you've built things with your own two hands, lots of things. You've made the leap from building things to managing the builders of things OR you want to, and you have the confidence and drive to succeed as Project Manager.

This particular Project Management role isn't suited for folks with experience only in design, event management, general project management or building as a hobby. This isn’t an IT or finance PM role either.

You have to have worn a tool belt/had a tool box at a job and understand how things are built. You've personally worked with a variety of materials (metal, plastic, wood, glass, laminate), adhesives, and finishes.

**Please note, hands-on metal fabrication/carpentry/woodworking/cabinet making experience is a non-negotiable requirement of the role, we won’t be considering folks who do not have this experience.

    THE ROLE

We assure quality custom products with efficiency and dedication. And we deliver. At the helm of delivery is the Project Manager. Our Project Managers navigate and execute temporary and permanent installations working with their the Sales team, Account Managers, other Project Managers, Design Engineers, CNC Programmers, Fabricators, and Management.

Project Managers work through design, estimating, planning, development, production, and installation phases of the project life cycle. They have a direct connection to the profitability of Axiom and the reason they are successful is that they understand how things are built. But, it's not that simple, that's the foundation they bring. Then, they come to Axiom learn the process of project management and production at Axiom, inside and out, and execute it. In tandem with the sales and accounts teams, they develop new relationships and maintain on-going relationships with clients, agencies, designers, general contractors, architects and artists.

    YOU

Our Project Managers help keep the team running at full speed. You will be joining a team of like-minded folks managing production of experiences and brand touch-points that are simply put, awesome. You have a passion for unlocking the potential of the greater team by removing roadblocks and creating a clear path to getting things done through an obsession with planning, process, and transforming complex requests into actionable to do's.

You are comfortable and confident in managing what you know how to build and you enjoy being an integral part of a team. You are highly motivated, organized, a collaborator. You are committed to project excellence and have an outstanding attention to detail -- you love the craft.

You have exemplary communication skills. You thrive when working in an active environment against tight deadlines, managing budgets and workflow. Drawings, the computer, email and spreadsheets are familiar tools; software we use includes in-house ERP, Slack, and SmartSheets. You welcome the challenge to manage multiple projects, clients, and resources at a time. You are able to quickly learn about our what you are unfamiliar with in our industry, including retail environments, millwork/casework, tradeshow booths, and custom crating. You will check in with clients, visit the project site, etc.; frequent local travel requires a current local driver's license and a clean driving record.

    THE RETURN

Our way of life promotes hard work, but health and family always come first. We ask employees to give us their all, and in turn, we help them live a rewarding life with the balance they need to enjoy their career at Axiom. We offer an opportunity for growth, an excellent salary, paid holidays, 401k and Roth investment options, and medical, dental, vision benefits (with dependent coverage options). Best yet, in year two you accrue 4 weeks of PTO!

Important note: there are dogs in the office.
