    POSITION PURPOSE:

    Under the general supervision of the Clinic Manager, the Medical Assistant will perform certain clinical duties. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs, administering medications, and direct care duties as needed and in accordance with established policies and procedures. The MA will complete a training program as directed by the MA Coordinator.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    CLINICAL:

    Room patients which includes obtaining vital signs, verifying medications (medication reconciliation), medical history, and obtaining other pertinent information.Assist physicians and nurses as needed.Perform EKGs.Perform peak flows/spirometry.Administer O2 as directed by provider.Administer respiratory treatments as directed by provider.Perform in-office labs and UDS.Perform routine prescription refills under the supervision of the MA Lead.Enter orders for medication and labs as directed by provider.Scrub charts/huddle with provider and team daily.Perform normal lab call backs.Blood draws, if competency has been signed off.Injections and immunization administration.Assist with procedures.Non-complicated wound care.Suture/staple removal AFTER seen by provider.Stock and clean rooms.Packaging instruments for the Autoclave.Schedule patients for follow-up per provider.Assist team with desktop items.Answer telephone calls.Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures).


    NON-CLINICAL:

    Expected to be prepared to begin each shift at the scheduled time, meet attendance standards and work the hours necessary to perform the essential functions of the jobsConform to safety work ethics, be flexible and show dedication to the position and communityDemonstrate a positive attitude, is respectful and possesses cultural awareness and sensitivity with all clients, co-workers, and others.Demonstrate a keen understanding of HIPAA regulations and uphold the confidentiality of patient information at all times.


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Incumbents are required to have demonstrated basic knowledge and abilities in the following areas:

    High school graduate or equivalent education.

    Position Purpose:

    Under the direction of the VP of Infrastructure Optimization and the Chief Medical Officer, the Clinical Quality Manager is instrumental in the design, measurement/monitoring, implementation, and evaluation of actions to improve patient care.     POSITION PURPOSE:

    Under the general supervision of the Clinic Manager, the Medical Assistant Lead will perform certain administrative and clinical duties in a supportive and training role.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - CLINICAL:

    Accurately scrub patient charts prior to appointment and room patients per procedure.Accurately and efficiently enter information into EMR; strictly adhere to the HIPAA policy and procedures.Accurately and efficiently enter orders, medication and lab orders in EMR, as directed by Provider.Set up and assist Provider with procedures.Perform clinical duties as ordered by Provider, including but not limited to ear lavage, EKG, injections, medication administration, and duties within the scope of an MA and according to established procedures.Perform and delegate providers staff buckets, answer telephone calls, and assist patients.Administer and be competent in vaccine administration for adults and children.Assist with Nurse visits as needed, performing wound care, blood pressure checks, medication administration, point of care testing, and duties ordered by Provider and according to procedures.Stock, clean, and check for expired supplies in each assigned room and Nursing Station.Clean, pack, and track instruments to be sent for sterilization.Follow all Aviva Health and department policies and procedures.Assist other team members as needed.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - ADMINISTRATIVE:

    Train medical assistants in accordance with policies and procedures to perform job duties within their scope.Maintain and review training and orientation check-off lists on new medical assistants.Assist supervisors in the development of MA training program and orientation checklist and provide training and assistance to staff who may need additional training.Collaborate with supervisors, providers and Chief Medical Officer to adjust MA curriculum and training, as needed, and work as a liaison between the medical assistants and providers to improve training.Work closely with other departments to improve patient care.Ensure medical equipment is functioning and notify Supervisor/Manager if repairs or replacement is needed.Assist department with maintaining compliance with all regulatory agencies, including CLIA, OSHA, etc.Maintain, log, train on, and/or delegate all quality control logs as required by CLIA.Address any clinic questions/concerns; direct staff to supervisors to address non-clinical questions/concerns.Follow-up on tasks; notify Supervisor/Manager if MAs are experiencing performance or compliance issues.Attend scheduled meetings and trainings as directed by the Supervisor/Manager.Perform other clinical and administrative duties as assigned.


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Minimum six (6) months of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant.No written warnings in the last six (6) months.Maintain current BLS certification.Knowledge of basic medical terminology and excellent computer skills.Scribe experience preferred.Incumbents are required to have demonstrated knowledge, skill, and ability in the following areas:Responsibility, humility, leadership, customer service, teambuilding, and collaboration.Working independently and effectively under pressure, detail-oriented, organized, and meet deadlines.Office procedures, patient flow, triage, and scheduling.Ability to follow department, company, state, and federal policies, rules, and regulations.
