Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities Medication Administration: Administer oral and topical medications as prescribed by a physician, under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Ensure the correct medication, dosage, and time are administered. Document medication administration accurately, including dosage, time, and resident response. Maintain accurate records of medication administration. Report any adverse reactions or side effects to the supervising nurse. Basic Nursing Care: Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene, dressing, feeding, and mobility. Monitor vital signs and report any changes to the supervising nurse. Provide personal care, including bathing, grooming, and toileting. Resident Care and Safety: Ensure the safety and comfort of residents. Answer residents' call lights and respond to their needs promptly. Maintain a clean and organized environment. Follow established healthcare standards and practices. Communication and Documentation: Communicate effectively with residents, family members, and staff. Document resident care and medication administration accurately and thoroughly. Report any changes in resident condition or concerns to the supervising nurse. Other Duties: May assist with other nursing tasks as assigned by the supervising nurse. Participate in staff meetings and continuing education. Maintain confidentiality of resident information. Requirements and Qualifications: Licensed Certified Medication Aide in the State this position is held in. Must maintain and have an active CPR/BLS during employment. Prefer experience in long term care, geriatric rehab, sub-acute and or critical care clinical setting. Experience in electronic medical records documentation. Greet residents and escort them to their rooms. Transport residents to new rooms or to the receiving area Assist with loading/unloading residents from vehicles as necessary Participate in and receive the nursing report upon reporting for duty. Assist residents with daily dental and mouth care (i.e., brushing teeth/dentures, oral hygiene, special mouth care, etc.). Assist residents with bath functions (i.e., bed bath, tub or shower bath, etc.) as directed Observe and report the presence of pressure areas and skin breakdowns to prevent decubitus ulcers (bedsores). Report injuries of an unknown source, including skin tears. Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures and as instructed by your supervisors. Follow work assignments and/or work schedules in completing and performing your assigned tasks. Cooperate with inter-departmental personnel, as well as other Community personnel, to ensure that nursing services can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of the residents. Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information. Monitor nursing care to ensure that all residents are treated fairly, and with kindness, dignity, and respect.
