We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Dealership Controller to oversee all financial operations and accounting functions. The ideal candidate will be a strategic partner to the General Manager, providing the financial insights and internal controls necessary to drive profitability and ensure the long-term health of the dealership.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting: Prepare and submit accurate monthly financial statements to the manufacturer in accordance with dealership standards and deadlines.Accounting Oversight: Manage all aspects of the accounting office, including accounts receivable/payable, payroll, inventory management, and tax compliance.Cash Flow Management: Monitor daily cash flow, manage floor plan reconciliations, and oversee bank relationships.Internal Controls: Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard dealership assets and ensure "clean" audits.Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with Department Managers (Sales, Service, Parts) to review financial performance, analyze expenses, and identify opportunities for increased efficiency.Compliance: Ensure the dealership is in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including sales tax and privacy laws.QualificationsExperience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a Controller or Office Manager in an automotive dealership setting.Technical Skills: Proficiency in dealership management systems (DMS) such as [CDK / Reynolds & Reynolds / Dealertrack].Leadership: Proven ability to manage an office team and communicate complex financial data to non-financial managers.Integrity: Uncompromising ethics and a track record of maintaining confidentiality.
